Firstly, I mean no disrespect whatsoever but we must acknowledge that this podcast hosts’ personal experience with MBP/FDIA creates the potential for bias, particularly where a “guest” claims to be a victim of MBP/FDIA despite evidence to the contrary. Unfortunately, we know that people can & do lie about abuse such as MBP/FDIA. Although relatively rare, we must acknowledge this & recognise the devastating impact such lies have on honest victims & their ability to speak out & be believed.
I must make clear that this review is based primarily on one particular guest to recently feature on this podcast & is in no way a reflection on any other victim of MBP/FDIA. It is deeply troubling that this podcast has chosen to disregard the avalanche of damning evidence recently released to the public by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, MO, in the case against the convicted murderer Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
For those who are unaware, Gypsy Rose Blanchard claims to be a victim of MBP/FDIA perpetrated by her Mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, whom she murdered. But the case never went to trial as Miss Blanchard accepted a plea deal which saw her convicted of murder. Over the past decade Miss Blanchard’s version of events/rationale for the crime has changed repeatedly. While the case evidence recently released by law enforcement tells a very different story.
The fact that Miss Blanchard took a plea deal meant the evidence collected & collated by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, MO, was never put before a court of law. However, the case evidence was recently obtained via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) making it accessible to the public for the first time. And as many suspected, this evidence challenges Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s claims.
Another important point to note is that rarely has a convicted murderer (Gypsy Rose Blanchard) been enabled by so many to launch such a grotesque campaign of vitriol, misinformation & outright falsehoods against their victim (Dee Dee Blanchard). This podcast privileges the account of a convicted murderer over that of their victim, who has been permanently silenced. And this raises serious questions about the credibility, professionalism & impartiality of this podcast.
Before rushing to judgement or giving preference to preconceptions based entirely on the ever-changing account of a convicted murderer, review the evidence yourself. Review the evidence & ask yourself the following questions; is the evidence consistent with the perpetrators version of events? Why does the perpetrators version of events & rationale keep changing? What does the evidence reveal about the perpetrator? What does the evidence reveal about the victim? And remember, in a court of law when the accused is caught in a lie, they rightly lose all credibility. In this case, there are a plethora of examples where the evidence directly contradicts the account given by the perpetrator, Gypsy Rose Blanchard. No need to take my word for it, I implore you to see it for yourself.
I understand that it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish fact from fiction. And this is made worse by those who purposely perpetuate misinformation & falsehoods to obscure the truth & benefit themselves. I also recognise that people often struggle to let go of preconceived ideas based on the falsehoods they were told. However, the truth matters & ignoring the truth because your pride won’t allow you to admit you were duped is a fools errand. There is no shame in giving someone the benefit of the doubt in an act of good faith. In fact, all the shame lies with the person who set out to deceive others for personal gain. If history has taught us anything at all it is that, sooner or later, the truth will always out.
