Kimi Antonelli Wins Austin as F1 Title Fight Goes to Mexico | United States Grand Prix 2026

Kimi Antonelli came to Austin with a chance to become Formula 1 World Champion — and left with another victory, but the championship celebration will have to wait. In this episode of Formula 1 News Hour, Jonathan Steele breaks down the 2026 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, where Antonelli delivered another commanding performance to win in Austin ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. Antonelli started at the front and immediately established himself as the man to beat, while Verstappen, Leclerc and Hamilton battled behind him through a frantic opening lap. Jonathan initially predicts that Verstappen will win the race — and that Formula 1's title fight surely cannot end this early — before Antonelli begins proving him wrong. Strategy quickly becomes the defining story of the race. Verstappen makes an early move onto fresh tires and briefly takes control as Antonelli stays out longer on the mediums. When Antonelli finally pits, Verstappen moves into the race lead, setting up a fascinating strategy battle between the championship leader and the former World Champion. But Antonelli refuses to go away. After Verstappen makes another stop, Antonelli retakes the lead and begins building the gap again. As the laps tick down, Jonathan realizes his pre-race prediction is falling apart — Antonelli is increasingly looking like the winner. Behind him, the fight for the podium heats up. Verstappen works his way past Lando Norris, only for Charles Leclerc to come charging through and take second place late in the race. Hamilton also battles Norris, while George Russell's afternoon is complicated by penalties and pit-lane mistakes. A late safety car caused by Valtteri Bottas adds one final twist, but Antonelli holds on and takes another victory at COTA. The result keeps the championship alive for at least one more round, with the title fight now heading to Mexico City. Max Verstappen Dominates Singapore: F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2026 Analysis & Hamilton's Late Collapse

Is the dominant Max Verstappen back? In this episode of Formula 1 News Hour, Jonathan Steele breaks down the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen delivered a commanding performance under the lights — leading from the opening lap to the checkered flag and showing flashes of the dominant Verstappen of seasons past. Verstappen started from pole ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton and quickly established control of the race. What followed became a battle of tire management, pit strategy, virtual safety cars, and patience around the demanding Singapore street circuit. Jonathan analyzes how Red Bull managed Verstappen's tires and pit window so effectively that he was able to stop and still retain the race lead — a strategic move that helped put the victory firmly in his hands. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc remained his closest challenger as Ferrari tried to find a way back into the fight. But some of the biggest drama came in the closing laps. Lewis Hamilton, who had spent much of the race near the front, suddenly found himself under enormous pressure from Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli attacked first and moved into the podium positions before Norris eventually fought his way through as well, sending Hamilton from third to fifth in the space of a lap. Oscar Piastri then joined the late charge and ultimately pushed Hamilton down another position. Jonathan also looks at George Russell's impressive recovery through the field, Kimi Antonelli's brake concerns and track-limit troubles, McLaren's strategy, Ferrari's race pace, multiple virtual safety cars, and why much of the Singapore Grand Prix felt more like a strategy contest than an all-out race. He also asks a bigger question facing Formula 1: Are races like this part of the reason casual viewers are losing interest? In this episode: Max Verstappen wins the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix Verstappen leads from start to finish Red Bull's winning tire and pit strategy Charles Leclerc challenges from second Lewis Hamilton falls from the podium fight Kimi Antonelli's late charge Lando Norris vs. Lewis Hamilton Oscar Piastri's late attack George Russell's recovery through the field Antonelli's brake concerns and track-limit warning Singapore Grand Prix tire strategy Virtual safety cars and pit-stop decisions Is Formula 1 becoming too strategy-heavy for casual fans? Can anyone stop Kimi Antonelli? In this episode of Formula 1 News Hour, Jonathan Steele breaks down the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, where Kimi Antonelli continued his remarkable season with another victory — holding off Max Verstappen and Lando Norris to take the win. The race began with Norris on pole and Antonelli alongside him, but the order quickly became complicated as Verstappen attacked, positions were handed back after first-lap incidents, and strategy began to shape the race. Jonathan follows Norris' strong early pace before a costly slow pit stop dropped the McLaren down the order, opening the door for Antonelli and Verstappen. As the race progressed, tire strategy became crucial, with Antonelli eventually taking the lead and pulling clear while Verstappen and Norris battled behind him. There was drama throughout the field as Lewis Hamilton suffered a major brake problem and was forced to retire, Charles Leclerc stayed out long on an alternate strategy, Liam Lawson delivered another strong drive, and Oscar Piastri endured another difficult weekend before receiving a black flag for repeated track-limit violations. Jonathan also looks at Antonelli's growing championship advantage and asks whether the 19-year-old could be on his way to becoming one of the youngest Formula 1 World Champions ever. From 19th to Victory: Kimi Antonelli Wins the Italian Grand Prix | Monza 2026 Analysis

How do you go from nearly the back of the grid to winning at Monza? In this episode of Formula 1 News Hour, Jonathan Steele breaks down a wild 2026 Italian Grand Prix, where Kimi Antonelli delivered one of the standout drives of the season — charging through the field, battling Max Verstappen and George Russell, and ultimately taking victory at the Temple of Speed. The weekend started with a surprise as Pierre Gasly put his car on pole ahead of Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull. But once the race began, the order changed quickly. Ferrari's home Grand Prix turned chaotic almost immediately as Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc made contact on the opening lap before Leclerc later lost control and crashed out, bringing out the safety car and eventually a red flag. Jonathan follows Antonelli's remarkable recovery from 19th on the grid as the young Mercedes driver works his way through the field, overtakes Max Verstappen, battles teammate George Russell for the lead, and takes advantage of a crucial virtual-safety-car pit stop. Late in the race, Antonelli closes rapidly on Russell before an aggressive attempt sends him into the gravel. Somehow he saves the car, catches Russell again, and completes the pass for the lead on lap 50 before going on to win the Italian Grand Prix. Jonathan also reacts to Max Verstappen fighting near the front despite repeatedly describing his car as "completely broken," George Russell's tire strategy, Lewis Hamilton's difficult afternoon, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris fighting through the field, and the constant position changes that made Monza one of the more entertaining races of the season.
