The View From Here - behind Enemy lines

Roy Pitta’s The View From Here

Mainly political, but not always; I hope you’ll find whatever I talk about both entertaining and educational. The name is from a weekly column I wrote in the early 90s, and is a subtle reference to my being “behind enemy lines” - a (then) Republican surrounded by Democrats; that situation has worsened, as I now watch both Democrats & RINOs they slowly turn The Garden State into a S******e...I believe in true Republican Principles, not in the Establishment GOP these days. So I describe myself as a Constitutional Conservative Libertarian. And thankfully, I’m not as alone as I once thought.

After the Election: Republican Setbacks, Coming Dangers, Optimism for the Future.

A frank look at what comes next after recent Republican election losses. We cover questions about party leadership, Trump's decision on Iran and what it means for energy costs, and how his agenda on immigration and consumer prices is landing. We also discuss Republican prospects and the market, the post-election protests, vote verification and corruption claims, and the Vice President's position on Trump and Iran. Then we turn to Iran's war, its leadership and the nuclear threat, and to fears of unrest at home. We finish with being prepared, political disappointment, and standing up to political and media influence. Despite misgivings about what may happen in the short run, Roy is overall optimistic about the long-term future of our country. All about Movies

"This episode is all about movies (of course). We share our five favorite films of all time, and old films that hold up, then move on to comedy remakes and Monty Python favorites. Wende names the movies she can't stand, and we try to solve the Christopher Lambert mystery (of our own making). From there we cover on-screen body counts, the bloodiest scenes ever, and James Bond; plus action films, martial arts movies and crime thrillers. Spoiler Alert: Roy gives away the ending of the original "Night of the Living Dead". We go on to debate science fiction classics and genres, recommend series like The Chosen and Landman, and look at horror classics and their most unsettling killers. We finish with overlooked gems, James Spader's roles, Tom Cruise's first film, Being There and Heaven Can Wait." France on Fire, Socialism Fears, Movies & Series

This episode starts with a chaotic intro and goes straight to the unrest across Europe. We look at the riots in France, the immigration debate behind them and the political fallout, then turn to fears about socialism and ideological education in the US. Along the way we cover the claims about Ilhan Omar, take a detour through Western Canada and do a long tangent about Ruger firearms, talk about Russia, fuel prices and worries about Democratic governance and social control. We also break for some entertainment picks, from Reacher to faith-based favorites like The Chosen, before heading back to France and the attacks on religious targets. We wrap up with some show plugs, a debate about the release schedule and a few playful detours on the way out. Remembering October 7, Three Years On

On the anniversary of October 7, we sit with the weight of remembrance — hostage rescue stories, accounts of the atrocities, and why the day still feels so heavy. From there we work through the harder arguments: genocide claims and Hamas tactics, who is really responsible for civilian suffering in Gaza, and how aid, propaganda, and education sustain extremism. The conversation widens into a broader critique of Islamist rule, the appeal of fanaticism, and fears about extremism spreading westward — before turning to what better alternatives might look like: regional cooperation, reform, and rejecting violence in the name of religion. We close with reflections on memory, platform realities, and an anti-Sharia sign-off. 2661 George's recent trip to Lebanon

A Journey Through Lebanon: Family, Heritage, and Resilience George Khoury shares his trip to Lebanon amidst challenges. In this heartfelt conversation, George Khoury recounts his recent trip to Lebanon with his family, navigating the complexities of visiting a country that has seen much turmoil. As George wrote, “My father told me the loud booms and bright lights on the horizon were wedding celebrations, but I knew he was lying.” George was only seven years old when the bombs started dropping on his Greek Orthodox village of Kousba as Lebanon fell into a state of nature known as the Lebanese Civil War of 1975-1990. A year later, George was holding a loaded shotgun in defense of his family from foreign invaders. Other childhood memories include rocket-propelled grenades, the horror of a double assassination in his home, getting ambushed by a paramilitary group, “deathstalker” scorpions, and getting arrested by Syrian soldiers on his way home from school. In a watershed moment after his 16th birthday, George was hunted down and nearly killed by a terrorist organization from Tripoli. George escaped death numerous times, suffered years of material hardship, and endured countless injustices, but never succumbed to despair—never lost his faith in God. This is the recurring theme of the book. Through laughter, stories, and the sharing of food, George and his family brought joy to their hometown, showcasing the strength of community amidst adversity. As he puts it, "It was a healthy trip, full of good feelings and good food." This conversation is a reminder of the importance of family, heritage, and the stories that bind us together, even in challenging times. For more insights and stories, tune in to the full episode with George Khoury.
