**Success shouldn’t cost you your peace.** Welcome to *The Work of Warriors*, the mental health and wellness podcast for the entertainment industry—created for the artists, creatives, and industry professionals building extraordinary careers without wanting to lose themselves in the process. Through honest conversations with actors, musicians, filmmakers, comedians, producers, executives, entrepreneurs, and other industry leaders, we explore what it actually takes to thrive personally while building something meaningful professionally. Together, we’re changing the conversation around mental wellness in entertainment by: • Normalizing honest conversations about mental health and the realities of creative careers • Exploring practical tools for nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and greater capacity • Challenging the belief that burnout, self-abandonment, and constant hustle are simply the price of success • Redefining success to include well-being, healthy relationships, boundaries, authenticity, and sustainable careers Whether you’re navigating burnout, anxiety, rejection, creative pressure, career uncertainty, life after a big project, or the complicated relationship between your identity and your work, The Work of Warriors is a place for conversations that remind you: You can love the work without losing yourself to it. Because a healthier entertainment industry starts with healthier humans. When artists are well, everybody wins. Thank you for being part of the conversation, and for helping create a healthier entertainment industry, one brave conversation at a time.

When Vulnerability Goes Viral with Madison Hughes

In this episode of The Work of Warriors, Kim Rapach sits down with Nashville singer-songwriter Madison Hughes to explore the story behind her viral song Battles and why authenticity is often the most powerful thing an artist can offer the world. After appearing on The Voice and making the bold move to Nashville, Madison shares the highs and lows of pursuing a career in music, including rejection, self-doubt, heartbreak, confidence, and the courage to keep showing up. Together, Kim and Madison discuss the realities of the music industry, the emotional weight artists often carry, and why our silent battles are far more common than we realize. In this conversation, you'll discover how vulnerability creates genuine connection, why rejection can become one of your greatest teachers, how songwriting became Madison's outlet for healing, and why building confidence starts with taking imperfect action. They also explore social media, creativity, grief, and the importance of creating art that reflects who you truly are instead of who you think people want you to be. The Most Dangerous Lie I Ever Told w/Kim Rapach

In this poignant episode, Kim Rapach shares a personal story that sheds light on how early experiences can shape our behaviors and survival patterns well into adulthood.  The Impact of Early Trauma Kim begins by recounting a traumatic event from her childhood involving her stepfather's violence, a moment that deeply influenced her perception of safety and truth. "I learned that day, like that, I learned to be fine when I'm not fine," she recalls. This pivotal experience taught her to prioritize others' feelings over her own, a pattern that would follow her into her adult life. Patterns of Survival As Kim discusses, our survival mechanisms can turn into lifelong habits that may not serve us well. She emphasizes, "Sometimes our greatest strengths didn’t always start as strengths. Sometimes they started as mere survival." This realization invites listeners to reflect on their own patterns and how they might be affecting their relationships and mental health. Breaking the Cycle Kim challenges us to examine our core memories, suggesting that acknowledging our past is crucial for healing. "If you're doing that, I guarantee you're hurting inside your suffering, and most likely you're not fully showing up authentically in the areas of your life that matter the most to you," she warns.  The Path to Emotional Freedom In her journey of healing, Kim discovered the importance of regulating her nervous system and facing her past. She invites listeners to embrace their stories and seek help if needed, stating, "If any of this resonates with you and you find yourself thinking you’re ready to look down the path of your story... I welcome a conversation." As Domestic Violence Awareness Month progresses, Kim also encourages anyone affected by such trauma to reach out for support and resources.  Let this episode be a reminder that healing is possible, and facing our past is the first step towards emotional freedom.  💜 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUPPORT & RESOURCES If you or someone you love is experiencing domestic violence, support is available. You do not have to navigate this alone. 📞 National Domestic Violence Hotline: 800-799-SAFE (7233) 💬 Text: START to 88788 🌐 Online: thehotline.org If you are in immediate danger, call 911 (U.S.). When We Stand Together w/Rondal Richardson

BONUS: When We Stand Together: Grief, Generosity & the Power of Showing Up with Rondal Richardson What becomes possible when we stop measuring success by what we accomplish alone, and start asking what we can do together? In this special BONUS episode of The Work of Warriors, Kim Rapach sits down with Rondal Richardson for a heartfelt conversation about generosity, community, grief, music, mental wellness, and the power of simply showing up for one another. Drawing from four decades in and around the music industry and his work in philanthropy, Rondal shares stories that reveal the people behind the accomplishments - the communities, families, artists, friends, and quiet acts of generosity that make meaningful impact possible. Kim and Rondal explore what it means to remain present in a culture that often celebrates busyness, achievement, and pushing through. They talk about nervous system regulation, curiosity, emotional vulnerability, the healing power of music and nature, and why some of life's most meaningful moments happen when we slow down enough to notice them. Rondal also opens up about grief and the people who have shaped his life, including his parents, his siblings, and his meaningful relationship with Naomi Judd and the Judd family. He shares how loss has influenced the way he shows up for others, and why allowing people into our hardest moments can become part of how we continue forward. Throughout the conversation, one message keeps returning: “When we stand together, it’s our finest hour.” - Rondal Richardson In this episode, Kim and Rondal discuss: • Why meaningful success is rarely achieved alone• The role generosity and philanthropy have played throughout Rondal’s career• What 40 years around the music industry have taught him about people and purpose• Moving beyond “busy” and becoming more present• The question “How’s your heart today?” and creating space for honest answers• Music, nature, movement, and other practices Rondal uses to care for his well-being• Grief, remembrance, and allowing others to walk alongside us through loss• Why curiosity can change the way we respond to criticism and difficult people• The difference between being the hero and being the guide• How small acts of generosity can create impact far beyond what we see• Why community matters in both our hardest moments and our greatest successes Rondal reflects on experiences throughout his career involving artists and members of the Nashville music community, including The Judds, Wynonna Judd, Naomi Judd, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, and others. But underneath the extraordinary stories is a deeply human invitation: listen well, stay curious, notice the people around you, and remember that none of us is meant to do life entirely alone. There's HELL, and then there's HOLLYWOOD w/Sara Banyan

What happens when success on the outside comes at the expense of who you are on the inside? In this episode of The Work of Warriors, Kim Rapach sits down with actress-turned-coach Sara Banyan for an honest conversation about Hollywood, identity, mental wellness, self-worth, and what it can look like to rebuild your relationship with yourself. Sara shares her journey as a classically trained actress who began booking roles at a young age—and the pressures she encountered around appearance, performance, and becoming who other people needed her to be. She also opens up about the personal work that eventually changed the direction of her life and career. Together, Kim and Sara explore what happens when our worth becomes tied to achievement, approval, appearance, or external validation—and why learning to connect with and care for ourselves can be some of the most challenging and meaningful work we do. They talk about: • The realities and pressures Sara experienced working in Hollywood  • The difference between performing and being fully yourself  • Mental wellness and the importance of human connection  • External validation versus building an internal sense of worth  • Self-soothing and learning to work with your nervous system  • Why achievement alone cannot give us the love and belonging we’re looking for  • Sara’s transition from acting into coaching  • Learning to give yourself the care, attention, and love you may have spent years seeking from others   One of the most powerful ideas in this conversation is beautifully simple: What if we stopped waiting for someone else to give us the love we’re looking for - and began practicing giving some of it to ourselves? This is a conversation about becoming more honest with yourself, reconnecting with who you are beneath the roles you’ve learned to play, and discovering that there can be another way forward. What happens when the person who always helps everyone else loses everything? In this episode of The Work of Warriors, Kim Rapach sits down with comedian, entrepreneur, and creator of Stand Up Comedy Sit Down Yoga, Stephen Campbell, for an honest conversation about resilience, grief, burnout, trauma, and rebuilding your life after everything falls apart. Growing up surrounded by the opioid epidemic, Stephen learned early how to survive loss and become the person everyone depended on. Years later, after building a successful social impact company, he unexpectedly lost everything and was forced to confront the same question so many high performers face: Who am I if I can no longer save everyone else? Together, Kim and Stephen explore the relationship between nervous system healing, emotional resilience, therapy, self-awareness, and the daily habits that create lasting mental wellness. They also discuss why healing isn't a quick fix, how humor can become a powerful tool for connection, and why sustainable success requires taking care of yourself before taking care of everyone else. What Comedy Couldn't Heal w/Mary Celine Smith

What if getting out wasn't the same as healing? For years, comedian Mary Celine Smith believed she'd escaped the hardest chapters of her life. But beneath the laughter, she realized she was still surviving, not healing. In this episode of The Work of Warriors, Kim Rapach sits down with Mary for an honest conversation about trauma, addiction, abuse, burnout, self-worth, and the courageous decision to stop merely surviving and start truly living. Mary shares how the stillness of the pandemic became an unexpected turning point, forcing her to confront years of unresolved pain and recognize that success, comedy, and staying busy could never heal what she hadn't faced.
