    132. How to Build Self-Trust by Keeping Promises to Yourself

Two weeks before my last event, I had zero tickets sold. And I’m going to be completely honest with you: I almost didn’t do it. In this solo episode of Creating Sunshine, I’m taking you behind the scenes of Moonlight and Magic Unleashed. From a last-minute venue change to slow ticket sales and the moment I considered quietly canceling, I’m sharing the real story, not just the highlight reel. But this episode isn’t just about hosting an event. It’s about building self-trust, keeping the promises you make to yourself, and choosing to show up even when it feels uncomfortable. I’m sharing what helped me keep going, why I changed the way I talked about the event, and what happened when women gave themselves permission to slow down, connect, and focus on what they wanted for their lives. If you’ve been thinking about walking away from something that matters to you, this is your reminder: the promises you make to yourself matter just as much as the ones you make to everybody else. In this episode, I talk about: How keeping promises to yourself builds confidence and self-trustThe moment I almost canceled and why having someone to call matteredWhy your past career experience still counts when you’re starting something newWhat slow ticket sales taught me about personal outreach and planning aheadShifting my message from what we’d do at the event to how women could feelUsing journaling and intentional practices to reflect on what you want to release and createWhy calling something into your life also means taking actionThe friendships, connection, and meaningful moments I would have missed if I’d quitA question to take with you What promise have you made to yourself that you’re thinking about walking away from? What’s one small action you can take today to honor it? Keep showing up with support You don’t have to do this alone. I’d love to hear what you’re choosing to keep showing up for. Life is so much better TOGETHER.

    131. How to Change Limiting Beliefs and Rebuild Your Identity with Veronica Kissling

In this episode of the Creating Sunshine Podcast, Sarah talks with Veronica Barayev Kissling, an Identity Architect and Purpose Coach, about how the meaning we assign to our experiences can quietly become our identity. Veronica shares how family illness, hyper-independence, corporate success, and a relationship that no longer matched who she was led her to rebuild her life from the inside out. Together, Sarah and Veronica explore the relationship between identity, neuroscience, emotional patterns, spirituality, and receiving. They discuss the “be, do, have” process, the pause before a reactive response, and simple ways to create enough quiet to notice what you really feel and want. In this episode: An experience is real, but the meaning you assign to it does not have to become a permanent definition of who you are.“I did” can become “I am” when repeated stories turn into identity; noticing that pattern is the beginning of changing it.The brain uses past data to predict the future, which can make old patterns feel like facts instead of learned responses.Identity change begins with who you choose to be, then becomes visible through the actions you repeat, and eventually shapes what you have. Practical exercises to try: The identity check: Write down a recurring thought that begins with “I am.” Ask whether it is a fact, an old conclusion, or an identity you are ready to update. The pause: Before responding to a familiar trigger, take one breath and name what is happening: “I see you, fear.” Then choose the next action deliberately. The white-space walk: Take a short walk without your phone or audio and let your thoughts surface without trying to optimize the time. The receiving question: Ask, “Who am I becoming, and is that version of me able to recognize, accept, and hold what I say I want?” About Veronica Veronica Barayev-Kissling is an Identity Architect and Purpose Coach who helps entrepreneurs and teams rewire their internal frameworks so they can build businesses and lives that match their vision. Blending neuroscience, emotional mastery, and ancient wisdom from Kabbalah, she helps purpose-driven leaders expand their capacity, dissolve invisible ceilings, and step into more power, peace, and prosperity. With a background in financial engineering and experience managing large-scale projects, Veronica brings strategy, depth, and intuition to her work. 130. You Are More Than Your Hardest Moments | Live at Like Minded Live

Being positive isn’t the same as pretending you’re okay. And doing everything on your own isn’t the secret to success. In this special episode of Creating Sunshine, I’m sharing my speech from Like Minded Live, where I took the stage to talk about my real secret to success: building the capacity to move through hard things and allowing myself to be supported. From my marriage ending to being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, I share how I began moving beyond “fake it till you make it” and started telling the truth, asking for help, and actually receiving it. This isn’t about staying positive every second. It’s about building belief in yourself, finding your people, and deciding who you want to become on the other side of whatever life brings. In this episode, I talk about: The difference between forced positivity and genuine resilienceWhy “fake it till you make it” isn’t the same as embodying the woman you want to becomeLearning to ask for support and receive it without controlling how it shows upFinding a community where you don’t have to shrink yourselfShowing my daughters that asking for help is a strengthYour reminder: The hardest thing that’s happened to you is not the most interesting thing about you. Your story is still unfolding, and you get to choose what comes next. Thank you to my friend Natalie for recording this speech so I could share it with you! If this episode speaks to you, send it to a woman who needs the reminder that she doesn’t have to do life alone. And message me on Instagram. I’d love to hear what resonated with you. 129. Turning Pain into Purpose: Mindset Tools to Rebuild Confidence with Nina

In this episode, Sarah sits down with Nina—Top 100 realtor and confidence coach—to talk about what it really takes to keep going through hard seasons and build a life you’re proud of. Nina shares how profound loss shaped her outlook, why mindset is the foundation for any goal, and simple daily tools (journaling, gratitude, affirmations) that help you course-correct when fear and doubt show up. Key takeaways Entrepreneurship can bring flexibility, but it still requires structure and intentional choices around time. You don’t have to “have it all figured out” to move forward—progress can be as small as getting 1% better.Gratitude and affirmations are most powerful when practiced consistently, especially at night before sleep.Reverse engineering a goal isn’t just about the numbers—it’s also about the emotions, beliefs, and identity required to get there. When negative thoughts hit, name them (“I see you, fear”) and consciously choose a new thought path.Community accelerates growth—finding the right room can change what you believe is possible.Resilience isn’t pretending things don’t hurt; it’s feeling it fully, handling what needs to be handled, and then choosing to live.Big investments can trigger old fear patterns; you can still move forward with courage (even while feeling fear).SEO keywords / keyphrases mindset coaching for womenturning pain into purposereverse engineering goalsgratitude and affirmations routineconfidence building toolsresilience after lossResources + links mentioned (from the episode) Life Coaching & Free Journaling Prompts: CARELifeCoaching.comReal Estate Website: CaryAreaRealEstate.comInstagram (Coaching): @CareLifeCoachingInstagram (Real Estate): @CaryAreaRealEstateEmail: Nina@CaryAreaRealEstate.comThank you for listening to Creating Sunshine! 128. The Secret to Success: Resilience, Community, and Finding Joy in the Journey

What is the real secret to success? For a long time, I thought success was an end goal: a certain amount of money, the perfect relationship, more clients, or finally reaching the next big milestone. But the older I get, the more I realize that success is not just where you end up. It is how you keep going when life gets hard, how you care for yourself along the way, and who you allow to support you through it. In this solo episode, I’m sharing the two things that have made the biggest difference in my journey: building the capacity and tools to move through hard seasons, and finding a community that holds me, believes in me, and reminds me to keep going when I cannot see it for myself. I also open up about the difference between genuine positivity and wearing a “fake it till you make it” mask, why taking care of yourself is not a waste of time, and how to find joy in the journey instead of waiting until you reach the finish line. Why success is more about the journey than the end goalThe difference between embodying the woman you want to become and pretending everything is fineHow to build resilience and the capacity to navigate hard seasonsWhy your past challenges are evidence that you can handle what comes nextThe role community plays in confidence, growth, and lasting successWhy receiving support does not make you weakHow to care for yourself even when your plate is fullIf you have been chasing the next milestone, trying to stay positive while struggling behind the scenes, or convincing yourself that you have to do it all alone, this episode is your reminder: you are allowed to take care of yourself, borrow belief from your community, and enjoy the life you are building along the way. I’ll be speaking at Like Minded Live in Southern California this Friday and sharing even more about my secret to success. 127. How to Build a Strong Community: Authentic Networking with Inbal Claudio

In this episode of the Creating Sunshine Podcast, Sarah sits down with Inbal Claudio, founder of Like Minded, to talk about the difference between a social following and a real community. Inbal shares how she moved from building a virtual network to hosting intimate in-person events and creating a coworking space grounded in one belief: friendship comes first, business second. They talk about the origin of Like Minded, what makes an event feel genuinely welcoming, and why meaningful connection is created through small, intentional details—not stage time or sales pitches. Inbal also shares practical ways to enter a room when you feel nervous, host your first gathering, protect your energy, and find the people who help you grow. Key takeaways Real community brings people together in a shared space around something meaningful; a follower count alone is not a community.Greet people at the door, make eye contact, and introduce newcomers to at least one other person so no one is left standing alone.Start smaller than you think. A room of three or four people can create a powerful experience when you know everyone and can care for the details. For introverts, approaching a pair of people can feel easier than interrupting a one-on-one conversation.Design events around the attendee experience—not the host’s offer, the stage, or a pressure-filled sales pitch.Build an “army” of trusted community members who help welcome new people before you scale. When evaluating a community, look for evidence that members are visible and supported—not just the founder.Ask for help, make time for yourself, and do not apologize for needing either one.Physical movement and small routines can help sustain momentum during busy seasons. The right room can lead to friendship, encouragement, new ideas, and opportunities that would be difficult to create alone. About Inbal Claudio Inbal Claudio is an event and membership strategist and the founder of Like Minded, an in-person community and coworking space for women entrepreneurs. Her work helps female founders create profitable, welcoming experiences that people genuinely want to attend, while keeping friendship and human connection at the center. 126. Your Hard Is Still Hard: Stop Comparing Your Struggles and Ask for Support

Have you ever minimized what you are going through because someone else has it worse? Your hard is still hard. Whether you are navigating motherhood, building a business, facing health challenges, or simply trying to hold everything together, you do not have to compare your struggle, apologize for your emotions, or carry it alone. In this solo episode of the Creating Sunshine Podcast, Sarah shares a powerful realization sparked by conversations with women at Be You Brand Live in Las Vegas. So many women discount their own experiences because they believe they should be more grateful, more capable, or less affected. But acknowledging that something is difficult does not make you ungrateful. It makes you honest. Sarah opens up about years of masking emotions, the difference between facing hard seasons alone and receiving support during cancer, and why asking for help is a strength. She also explains how community, emotional resilience, and practical mindset tools help us build the capacity to move through life's hardest moments. In this episode, you will learn: Why comparing your struggles to someone else's keeps you from getting the support you needHow gratitude and difficulty can exist at the same timeWhy you do not need to apologize for crying or expressing emotionThe difference between pity and allowing people to support youHow asking for help can help you move forward fasterWhy resilience is built before the next hard season arrivesHow safe community helps women feel seen, supported, and less aloneWhat it means to own your hard without letting it define youKey takeaway: Someone else having it worse does not make your experience less valid. You are allowed to name what is hard, receive support, and build the tools to move through it. 125. Why Being “Too Much” Might Be Your Greatest Gift with Maggie Amos

What if the parts of you that people called “too much” are actually the exact gifts you are meant to use? In this episode of the Creating Sunshine Podcast, Sarah sits down with business and brand mentor Maggie Amos for an honest conversation about owning your voice, turning painful experiences into purpose, and building a life that reflects who you truly are. Maggie shares how she went from working more than 80 hours a week as a middle school teacher and athletic coordinator to building a six-figure business in six months. She opens up about infidelity, an abusive relationship, an eating disorder, losing her daughter to stillbirth, and the mindset that helped her stop shrinking herself to fit other people’s expectations. Sarah and Maggie also talk about why support and mentorship matter, how your lived experience makes you impossible to copy, and why confidence is built through action. This conversation is your reminder that you do not need another reason to hide. Your story, your voice, and everything you have survived can become part of the impact you are here to make. How Maggie went from an overworked teacher earning $3,400 a month to building a six-figure business in six monthsWhy being called “too blunt,” “too loud,” or “too much” can cause women to silence their greatest strengthsHow to separate your identity from the painful experiences you have survivedWhy your lived experience is the differentiator no one else can copyHow to turn pain into purpose without making pain your entire identityWhy mentorship can collapse the time between where you are and where you want to goThe truth about entrepreneurship, sacrifice, and the myth of working only two hours a dayHow focusing on the best-case scenario trains your brain to notice possibilitiesWhy confidence comes from taking action before you feel completely readyHow sharing your real story helps the right people recognize themselves in you“I don’t want to be everybody’s cup of tea. I want to be the right people’s gasoline.”A mentor is not there to do the work for you. A mentor helps collapse the timeframe. You either win or you learn.Nobody can copy the life you have lived or the lessons you earned from it.People may misunderstand you whether you stay quiet or speak up, so give them something meaningful to talk about.Maggie Amos is a business and brand mentor who built nearly $1 million online in under three years, generated more than $2 million in sales, and has helped over 350 clients turn what they know into income.
