    Four things we can all do right now to reduce maternal mortality in Canada

    We do not need to and cannot wait for associations to come up with a plan to reduce our increasing rates of maternal mortality. Here are things we can all do if you are a parent, an educator, a worker, the head of your hospital, anyone. This is only the start of what we can do.     Maternal health in Canada - What are the data telling us? A look at mortality, morbidity, changing populations, system practices, and what we can learn from countries with stronger data systems. Canada has been witnessing a large increase in maternal mortality. It is the only high income country to see an increase in the last decades. Nine countries worldwide have seen an increase. Why is this happening here? What does this mean? Why is this important for the whole population? What is the system doing about it? This will be a series.     There is no reason for MMR to be increasing in the high income country of Canada. When I use the word midwife, I mean all clinicians.
