Mad, Sad and Bad with Paloma Faith

Paloma Faith has had plenty of moments in her life when she's felt mad, sad or bad - or been told that's what she's being. But do these words mean the same for everyone? What does it mean if someone says you're mad: that you're angry? Unstable? Insane? Or perhaps just different... Could those words be liberating, therapeutic or even transformational? To find out more, Paloma invites an array of actors, comedians, musicians and thinkers into her home to reflect on times where they've felt mad, sad, bad - and even glad - what they've understood and learnt from these experiences too. This podcast takes us into Paloma's world, with friends and family popping in occasionally - come for the chaos; stay for the conversation! New Episodes every Tuesday Hosted on Acast. 1. Dame Kristin Scott Thomas: The Menopause Is Amazing Once You’re Through It

Dame Kristin Scott Thomas: The Menopause Is Amazing Once You’re Through It

Acting royalty Kristin Scott Thomas joins me for the final episode of Season 3!!  She’s had some absolutely iconic roles on screen, like in Fiona in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Katharine Clifton in The English Patient and THAT legendary Fleabag monologue. There aren’t many people that I’d re-create my living room in a studio for (while heavily pregnant), but I would do basically ANYTHING for Kristin! 💅 We spoke about the guilt of motherhood, being labelled as a ‘cold’ person in the press and feeling like a failure when a marriage breaks down. My amazing friend (and super-talented hairstylist) Louis also joined us to talk about empowerment and the power of positivity. You can find him at @louisbyrneiciaiw.  Kristin is an absolute icon; so cool, so glamorous and SO talented - I’m really grateful to her for joining me. And thank YOU for joining me throughout this series! I’ve spoken to so many AMAZING guests, so make sure you go back and check out any episodes you might have missed! — Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube — Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Video: Josh Bennett, Jake Ji and Harry Sawkins Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast. Jeff Goldblum: Sadness Makes Us More Beautiful

Jeff Goldblum is my idol!! I’ve spent my whole life watching him on screen so, despite being HEAVILY pregnant, there was no way I was missing out on the opportunity to have him on the podcast. As well as being a mega-successful actor (and Hollywood legend), he’s also an insanely talented jazz musician. There’s a reason he’s so many people’s dream dinner guest… The first rule of Jeff Goldblum-ism is to be yourself and he is perfectly unfiltered. We spoke about everything from working with Wes Anderson to dealing with loss… and how his therapist ended up officiating his wedding! He also revealed what he is BAD at (surely Jeff Goldblum isn’t bad at anything?!) and even serenaded us with some of his beautiful jazz tones. Jeff’s love for life is absolutely infectious and he was such a dream to have on the podcast. His new album, with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, ‘Night Blooms’ is out on 5th June 2026. You can pre-order the album and find tickets for his 2026 world tour HERE. — Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube — Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Edit Producer: Kat Milsom Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Video: Josh Bennett, Jake Ji and Harry Sawkins Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast. Michelle de Swarte: Childfree And Having A Great F*cking Time

I’ve been SO excited to speak to Michelle since I first watched her brilliant stand-up comedy. She’s funny, honest, a bit chaotic (just like me) and has some of the MADDEST stories 🤣 After a successful modelling career, bossing the catwalks of New York and beyond, Michelle moved back to the UK in her 30s and turned to the world of comedy. She has written and starred in her own BBC sitcom ‘Spent’, appeared alongside Katherine Ryan in The Duchess and is currently on her ‘The Afters’ stand-up tour across the UK.  We talk about our shared experience of being raised by a single mum, how Michelle got fired from a burlesque club, and what it’s like to suddenly make (and spend) LOADS of money in your 20s 💸. We also spoke about society’s expectations of women and why she’s chosen not to have kids.  You can find tickets for ‘The Afters’ tour HERE! Thanks again to my neighbour Nicky for joining us on this episode! Check out his photography HERE. *Warning: please note this episode contains discussion of drug use and suicide* — Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube — Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Video: Josh Bennett, Lizzie McCarthy and Harry Sawkins Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast.
