Helping Warrington men with their mental health

Men's mental health support is available in Warrington because it's needed. Around 1 in 8 men experience a common mental health condition such as depression or anxiety. Yet they're often less likely to seek support for mental health concerns compared to women. In the UK, suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50, highlighting the urgent need for open conversations and accessible support. In Warrington there are several support groups and ways to seek help. We speak to mental health advocate, Lee Payton about his journey, Andy's Man Club and what support is available in our town. This episode contains talk about suicide ideation. What to expect from TEDx Warrington

What is TEDx? How did TED Talks come to Warrington? Why should you go? TEDx is the local, self-organised version of TED Talks. TED believes that ideas change everything, so offers a platform for people to share their own ideas, on any subject, with the world. After a year away, TEDx Warrington is back with a series of talks and performances based around the theme of identity and purpose. It takes place on 2nd December at the Warrington Youth Zone, so we chat to Licensee and Curator of the event, Kirsty James, to find out more. This month's featured independent local business is Mamars Artisan Bakery and Delicatessen. We talk to the owner, Sonia about everything Mamars has to offer. Plus! Our November Event Guide is here!
