Why You Need an Estate Plan Before You Think You Do | Attorney Sabrina Winters on Family, Resilience & Success

Estate planning isn’t only for wealthy people, retirees, or families facing a crisis. According to estate planning and probate attorney Sabrina Winters, nearly everyone has wishes worth protecting—and waiting to put them in writing can leave the people you love dealing with unnecessary confusion, stress, and difficult decisions. On this episode of the Fully Stoked Podcast, Sarah Stokes sits down with Sabrina for a conversation that goes far beyond wills and trusts. Sabrina shares the heartbreaking family experience that inspired her career in estate planning after her uncle became critically ill without the proper documents in place. She explains why even having a will may not be enough, what probate actually means, and why estate planning can be important at virtually every stage of adulthood—including when a child turns 18 and heads to college. But Sabrina’s story is also one of extraordinary resilience and entrepreneurship. She struggled to get into law school, was later academically dismissed, successfully petitioned to return, graduated, passed the New York Bar, relocated to North Carolina, and went on to build a highly respected estate planning practice. Her message about overcoming obstacles is simple and powerful: Your stop sign is your stop sign. You decide where to put it. Sarah and Sabrina also talk about entrepreneurship, succeeding in traditionally male-dominated professions, learning not to take rejection personally, finding your professional voice, building the right team, authentic leadership, networking, motherhood, and why successful people often have far more failures behind them than anyone sees. Sabrina Winters has more than 20 years of experience in estate planning and probate and has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women by the Mecklenburg Times, named a Top 50 Entrepreneur, received multiple Legal Elite recognitions in estate planning, and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. Your Pain May Not Start Where It Hurts: Understanding Myofascial Release

What exactly is fascia — and could it be part of the reason some pain keeps coming back? On this episode of the Fully Stoked Podcast, Sarah Stokes sits down with Jeff Krafft, PT, and Kallie Marshfield, OT, founders of Relief Re-Imagined Myofascial Release Therapy in Monroe, North Carolina. Jeff has more than 30 years of experience as a physical therapist, while Kallie has more than 15 years of experience as an occupational therapist and previously served eight years as an Army National Guard medic. Together, they combine their rehabilitation backgrounds with training in the John F. Barnes approach to myofascial release. Jeff and Kallie explain fascia in everyday terms and discuss how restrictions within this connective-tissue system may influence movement, posture, mobility, pain, and the nervous system. You’ll hear about: • The difference between myofascial release and massage• Why sustained, gentle pressure is central to their approach• How hip and pelvic restrictions may affect the neck, shoulders, and other areas• How surgery, scar tissue, repetitive movement, injuries, and posture can create compensations• The relationship between fascia and the nervous system• Why the area that hurts may not necessarily be the source of the problem• How myofascial release can complement physical therapy, massage, and chiropractic care• Why Kallie and Jeff left some of the constraints of traditional healthcare to create Relief Re-Imagined• Their advice for people who have been told there is nothing else they can do about persistent pain Kallie also shares the moment myofascial release clicked for her: sitting in her first class and realizing, “This is what I’ve been missing.” Their central message is simple: your body is interconnected, and persistent pain does not automatically mean you have run out of options. Inside the Historic Belk Mansion | Susan Volz on History, Faith, & Bringing the Mansion Back to Life

What if you felt called to do something years before you were actually ready to do it? In this episode of the Fully Stoked Podcast, Sarah Stokes and Melinda Willison sit down with Susan Volz, owner of the historic Belk Mansion in Monroe, North Carolina, to talk about the remarkable history of the home—and Susan’s journey to becoming its owner. More than 20 years ago, Susan was working as a real estate broker when she saw the mansion and felt that one day she would own it. The property was enormous, needed significant work, and the idea scared her enough that she initially walked away. But she never forgot about it. Years later, the Belk Mansion came back on the market, and Susan decided to take the leap. The mansion itself has an incredible story. It was home to Dr. John Belk, one of the original Belk brothers who helped establish the Belk Brothers department store with his brother, William Henry Belk. Dr. Belk raised seven daughters in the home, and descendants of the family have even returned to stay at the mansion and share their family stories and photographs. Today, Susan is working to preserve that history while giving the mansion an entirely new life. We talk about the restoration of the property, its nonprofit mission, Airbnb and overnight stays, weddings, showers, business meetings, community gatherings, photography and video opportunities, and Susan’s vision for making the Belk Mansion an affordable and welcoming gathering place for Monroe and Union County. We also get a peek inside some of the mansion’s beautiful rooms and hear about upcoming events—including the Bridgerton Masquerade Ball. If you live in the Charlotte, Monroe or Union County area and haven’t discovered the Belk Mansion yet, this is one local gem you’ll want to know about. 🏛️ THE BELK MANSION | SUSAN VOLZ 📧 susan@thebelkmansion.com📱 704-651-8309🌐 https://thebelkmansion.com📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/belkmansion/📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheBelkMansion📍 Google: https://share.google/3y6Gk0M1PXenanyhJ Contact Susan for information about overnight stays, tours, weddings, private events, meetings, community gatherings and upcoming events. 🎙️ FULLY STOKED PODCAST | SARAH STOKES Sarah StokesSenior Mortgage Loan AdvisorCoast2Coast Mortgage LendingNMLS #1743154 📱 828-333-7278📧 hello@sarahstokesgroup.com🌐 https://fullystokedhomeloans.com🎙️ https://fullystokedpodcast.com📸 Instagram: @sarahwhitleystokes🎵 TikTok: @lendersarahstokes▶️ YouTube: @fullystokedpodcast | @SarahWhitleyStokes Follow the Fully Stoked Podcast for conversations with entrepreneurs, community leaders and people doing interesting things throughout our communities. #BelkMansion #MonroeNC #UnionCountyNC #NorthCarolinaHistory #SusanVolz #FullyStokedPodcast #HistoricHomes #WomenInBusiness #CommunityLeadership #MonroeNorthCarolina DISCLAIMER: This content is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute mortgage or investment advice.
