Arsenal make it four wins from four in the Premier League with a 2–0 win at the Stadium of Light. Community Shield Preview | Nwaneri Future | Martinelli Rejects Gala | Berta???

Arsenal’s pre-season is over and the real football starts now. On this episode of The Carpet, I look ahead to Sunday’s Community Shield against Manchester City, react to Mikel Arteta’s intriguing comments on Ethan Nwaneri’s future and discuss Gabriel Martinelli turning down interest from Galatasaray. I also give my thoughts on Andrea Berta so far this summer at Arsenal, the club’s pursuit of a marquee attacker, how the transfer market has changed around us and why the final two weeks of the window could define how this summer is ultimately judged. Plus, a final word on Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Como and a brilliant performance from 16 year old Marli Salmon. 🎙️ Welcome to the Carpet. The dedicated Arsenal football podcast.

Arsenal 2–3 Dortmund | Bruno Guimarães Arrives | Transfer Talk & Listener Questions

Arsenal Football Culture. Welcome back to The Carpet. Arsenal fall to a 3–2 defeat against Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates in The Emirates Cup, but with pre-season in full swing, the performances matter more than the result, in my opinion. I break down what caught my eye from the game, including Ethan Nwaneri getting on the scoresheet, Christos Tzolis growing into the game and another exciting showing from youngster Max Dowman. We also talk Bruno Guimarães arriving at Arsenal, the latest transfer talk, answer some listener questions and look ahead to the final pre-season game against Como, with a familiar face coming back to the Emirates. 🎙️ Welcome to the Carpet — The dedicated Arsenal football podcast.

Welcome to The Carpet: The Induction

Welcome to The Carpet. A podcast built on three pillars: Arsenal. Football. Culture. This induction episode is simply there to set the tone for the podcast moving forward. A community outside the hyperbole noise on social media. A space where clicks aren’t chased. Just thoughtful football discussions married with honest opinions. Born in North London & raised in Salford, I’ve noticed football has always been the thread in my life connecting me with people, places and perspectives. The Carpet is a place where I’d like to further explore these things in future episodes. Expect match reviews, wider conversations around the game, cultural crossovers & the occasional FPL discussion.
