Plant Bingo, Pink Scrubs & Dr. K’s Sea King Costume 😂 | Episode 35

Episode 35 of Crack Me Up starts with an unexpected win: the podcast is actually ranking in search. On Spotify, the show is sitting at #2 for “non-surgical back pain,” #9 for “light-hearted jokes,” and it’s also showing up for spine health and other related searches. Not bad for a podcast that still regularly loses control of the microphone within the first few minutes. Then it’s time for a full recap of Plant Bingo. Amber and Aide both walk away winners, everybody gets plants, Dr. K gets an air plant that now needs its own weekly bath schedule, and the crew debates whether bingo needs a little more excitement—possibly drinks, gambling, or both. Before bingo, they stop at Corn Coast Brewery, get attacked by tiny biting bugs, and somehow Dr. K ends up ordering birria pizza in the middle of the episode because apparently food is now a required part of Crack Me Up. The pink scrubs are officially here too. On Wednesdays We Wear Pink is now happening at WellnessOne, and the crew tells the story of how their previous scrub company ended up in the metaphorical Burn Book after return and sizing issues. Naturally, Fabletics gets the redemption arc. Then comes one of the highlights of the episode: Dr. K’s Trunk-or-Treat costume. The theme is Under the Sea, and Dr. K is apparently going full Sea King / King Triton. We’re talking: - trident - white wig - crown - shiny pants - arm cuffs - a very aggressive fake six-pack - and a beard that may have accidentally turned the whole thing into Santa Claus The team also reveals plans for bubbles, jellyfish, treasure chests, gold coins, coral, balloons, and a themed QR-code offer for parents who stop by the WellnessOne trunk. But the best part of this episode is probably the patient wins. One patient realizes she can now go up and down stairs without pain, something she didn’t even notice until she suddenly did it normally. Another neck decompression patient is getting back more range of motion and starting to exercise again. Another patient who had been struggling to make morning appointments is doing better after the team adjusted his schedule to actually fit his life. There are more wins too: - a patient walking better after previously leaning forward constantly - someone getting back to activities on a trip without needing as much recovery afterward - a patient whose glute/leg pain has significantly decreased - another patient driving herself again and getting back some independence - and patients noticing improvements in each other before they even fully notice them themselves. The team also talks about something equally important: knowing when WellnessOne isn’t the right place to treat someone and helping point them toward the right next step instead. Sometimes helping means treating someone. Sometimes helping means saying, “This needs an MRI and a different kind of care.” And because no episode stays serious for long, Episode 35 also includes: Dr. K getting hangry, Amber saving roughly $1,500 by finding the right battery connector, a wrong-number phone call that somehow turns into a conversation anyway, birthday plants, acoustic panels, possible upcoming decompression training in Texas, Braves game talk, Google Lens for plants, and at least one joke about smelly plants turning into smelly patients. Coffee. Chaos. Chiropractic. Plants. Pink scrubs. And one very powerful trident. Like, comment, share and subscribe—and tell us: should Dr. K wear the full Sea King costume, beard and all? #CrackMeUpPodcast #WellnessOne #SpinalDecompression #PatientSuccess #PlantBingo #PinkScrubs #TrunkOrTreat #Chiropractic #LincolnNebraska #CoffeeChaosChiropractic

Scientology Found Dr. K?! The Laser Pod Is DEAD & Pedro Pascal Cult 😂 | Episode 34

Episode 34 of Crack Me Up begins with Amber declaring that “nothing else matters”—so naturally Dr. K tries to turn the entire thing into a motivational message about focusing on what actually matters: making a positive impact in your own life and in other people's lives. That optimism lasts surprisingly long. First up: the $150,000 laser pod is officially NOT happening. After researching it further, Dr. K decides the evidence just isn't strong enough yet to justify the cost or make it a smart clinical investment. Instead, WellnessOne is going to keep focusing on the treatments and systems they already know are producing results. Which means, unfortunately, nobody needs to sell a kidney anymore. Dr. K also talks about experimenting with AI-generated knee animations and discovering that AI apparently has opinions. It repeatedly pushes back on one of his requests because it could make a treatment appear unrealistically effective after one visit. After several prompts, it finally cooperates. Sort of. So now the Crack Me Up crew is officially concerned that the machines have begun negotiating. Then things get weirder. A Scientology pamphlet mysteriously arrives for Dr. K, leading Amber and Aide to wonder whether he's secretly joined a cult. Dr. K explains that he simply enjoys learning about unusual beliefs, documentaries and different perspectives—and that consuming information doesn't mean blindly believing it. That turns into conversations about Scientology, flat-earthers, cult documentaries…and eventually whether Pedro Pascal could start a cult that Aide would willingly join. Her answer appears to be yes. Immediately. Front row. Possibly with candles. There are also some great patient updates. One cervical decompression patient has been able to return to yoga movements and is noticing improved neck range of motion. The team talks about how neck decompression has become a much bigger part of what they're doing recently—and why people sometimes don't realize how restricted their movement has become until it starts improving. Then Cheyenne's mom makes her return after choosing football season over coming into the clinic for roughly two and a half months. She admits that she was doing great when she was following the plan…and then stopped doing what she was supposed to do. So naturally, the team threatens to send her her own testimonial video in which she tells everyone else to keep their appointments and follow the recommendations. Sometimes your biggest accountability coach is apparently past-you. The clinic itself is changing too. The decompression table has been moved into its own treatment room, staff are beginning to handle more of the setup, and the goal is to make patient flow smoother without everything depending on Dr. K personally hooking people up. And because this is Crack Me Up, Episode 34 also includes: An impromptu Thriller dance party with a little patientWhether drinking coffee as a child really made Aide shortKids asking for “dip dip” coffeeDr. K cleaning hundreds of gigabytes of useless videos off his phoneWhether The Lord of the Rings should ever be watched at 1.5× speedPedro Pascal apparently becoming a legitimate religious figureAmber and Aide's growing plant obsessionPatients trying to take cuttings from clinic plantsA patient disguising himself in extreme heat to get Patrick Mahomes' autographPatients providing the clinic with weather reports, traffic updates, recipes and candyPreparing Dr. K's mysterious costume for the upcoming Trunk-or-TreatSearching for photographic evidence that Dr. K once had long hairThe potentially haunted WellnessOne basementWhether the clinic needs an office catFrogs, moths, grubs, possums and everybody's oddly specific fearsDr. K's inability to tolerate having only one hand or one foot wetAnd Amber admitting she can't stand lotion on her palms because the texture makes her want to immediately wash it off.

Crab Rangoon Pizza, King Triton & Bull Riding at a Wedding 😂 | Episode 33

Episode 33 of Crack Me Up officially confirms something we probably already knew: This may slowly be turning into a food podcast. Dr. K, Amber and Aide sit down with crab rangoon pizza, spicy pickles and mochi for another WellnessOne mukbang—an idea partially inspired by Dr. K's 12-year-old daughter. That immediately leads to debates over ice cream flavors, pineapple on pizza, cream cheese making everything better and whether anyone actually knows the difference between fruit pizza and a tart. But the real planning begins when the crew starts working on WellnessOne's upcoming Trunk-or-Treat. The current concept? Neon wigs. Mermaid costumes. A bubble machine. Blue ball-pit balls for water. Treasure chests. Seaweed. And, most importantly, Dr. K potentially dressed as King Triton/Poseidon with a trident. Apparently nothing says WellnessOne Knee & Spine Center quite like Dr. K in fish-scale leggings handing candy to children. The goal is to make the trunk memorable enough that parents and kids actually remember who they met—and the crew is already brainstorming giveaways, photos and themed handouts to go with it. Then there are Dale's spicy pickles. After Dr. K previously declared that Dale's first attempt basically tasted like regular pickles, Dale took that personally. Attempt No. 2 comes loaded with jalapeños and seeds—and this time Dr. K gives them his approval. Mission accomplished, Dale. The crew also finally gets their pink scrubs, which means On Wednesdays We Wear Pink is getting very close to becoming official WellnessOne policy. Dr. K also reveals that he's starting archery lessons with Oliver, taught by one of the clinic's patients. That leads to memories of Dr. K's childhood archery days, questions about how competitive he really was, and the realization that the patient teaching him may have plenty of material to roast him with later. Then the conversation inevitably moves to tattoos. Aide explains why tattoo artists have to stretch the skin, Amber admits she has to practically restrain herself from talking with her hands while getting tattooed, and somehow the crew starts entertaining the possibility of getting tattooed on the podcast. And Dr. K's kids continue supplying podcast material. Kennedy is getting stronger. Oliver nearly body-slams his sister. And Maddie continues proving she may actually have a future in comedy—including immediately roasting her dad's suggestion that she perform stand-up at a nursing home. But one of the episode's best stories comes courtesy of Dr. K's latest attempt at DIY clinic renovation. He removes a shelf. The drywall comes with it. He finds some drywall compound. He doesn't have the proper tools. So naturally…he applies it with a random squeegee, smooths it with a wet paper towel, skips sanding altogether, adds another coat when it looks bad and then decides thick paint might somehow save the entire operation. It does not. The shop vac also doesn't have a filter, resulting in drywall dust getting blasted back into the room. Home improvement with Dr. K: confidence first, tools optional. And just when the episode can't get any more random, Aide ends it with a wedding story involving: an actual live bull. Not a mechanical bull. A real bull. The groom is a bull rider, there are horses, actual bull riding, Spanish line dancing, Modelo, secretly imported bottles of tequila at the tables and yet another conversation that could only happen on Crack Me Up. Episode 33 also includes plant bingo, naming and threatening houseplants, office cats, Maine Coons, scam phone calls, Kirkland tequila, Game of Thrones, Ted Lasso, Eminem, Costco and enough unrelated tangents to remind everyone why this show is called Crack Me Up. Coffee. Chaos. Chiropractic. And apparently crab rangoon pizza.

Aide Rode in a TRUNK?! Hibachi, Patient Wins & Laser Pod Chaos 😂 | Episode 32

Episode 32 of Crack Me Up begins with absolutely no plan whatsoever, which apparently means the only reasonable solution is to turn it into an eating podcast. Dr. K, Amber and Aide bring Starbucks and hibachi into the studio, review steak, chicken, shrimp, scallops and an impressive amount of broccoli, and somehow work Gordon Ramsay, Beef Wellington and the importance of timing into a discussion about keeping the clinic running on schedule. Then Aide casually reveals that she willingly rode around inside the trunk of a car. Not just around the block, either. She climbs into the trunk because there isn't enough room, stays hidden while everyone picks up her mom, waits in the trunk during an entire grocery-shopping trip, attempts to scare her mom when the trunk opens—and eventually gets dropped off with a Tide Pod stain on her butt after accidentally sitting on one while climbing out. This story gets progressively worse with every sentence. For the record: the Crack Me Up crew does not recommend riding in trunks. There are also some exciting WellnessOne updates. A patient who tried a sample treatment on the newer decompression setup reported that she was able to run about three miles without pain the following day—something she was extremely excited about. Dr. K also talks about why an early positive response is encouraging while still keeping expectations realistic about longer-term progress. The team is also looking at thermography as another way to help patients visually understand areas of heat, muscle tension and change over time. Dr. K explains why he likes objective visuals—but also why the ultimate measure of success is whether someone can get back to the activities that matter to them. Naturally, that discussion brings the $150,000 laser pod back into the conversation. How should WellnessOne pay for it? Sell a kidney? Sell an eyeball? Start a foot-focused OnlyFans? Dr. K eventually decides they should probably find a less questionable way to fund new technology. Probably the right call. Also in Episode 32: Trying hibachi from a new Lincoln spotFinding a former patient working there instead of living on a Mexican beachGordon Ramsay yelling at people about scallopsHot Cheeto tamalesWhy leftovers taste better the next dayHomemade spicy pickles that may finally be hot enough for AideA 23-year-old cat getting Raising Cane's chickenWhy you simply cannot move when a cat falls asleep on youA patient getting back to dancing with his wifeAmber's legendary inability to let someone else lead while dancingChristmas limo-light-tour ideasPink scrubs and future clinic photosA possible new thermography systemWhy tattoos and high-powered laser therapy aren't always friendsAnother patient struggling with consistency even after reporting better sleepAnd one of the most appropriate episode endings ever: a full Midwest goodbye that takes approximately forever. Episode 32 is food reviews, patient stories, decompression talk, questionable transportation decisions and completely unnecessary tangents—which is pretty much exactly what Crack Me Up is supposed to be. Cyber Cabs, Pink Scrubs & the $150,000 Laser Pod

Episode 31 of Crack Me Up proves that after 31 episodes, Dr. K, Amber and Aide may actually be getting the hang of this podcast thing. Maybe. The episode starts with the futuristic 32-laser Class IV “laser pod” that Dr. K has been researching. It looks amazing, it looks a little like someone climbed into a toaster oven—and it comes with a price tag of roughly $150,000. The crew debates whether the potential benefits actually justify adding something that expensive when WellnessOne already has targeted Class IV laser therapy available. That naturally turns into planning more changes around WellnessOne: acoustic panels, revamping treatment rooms and finally making the Crack Me Up studio feel like a real permanent podcast setup. And then we get to MERCH. Crop-top hoodies. Beanies. Stickers. Socks. Maybe even compression socks—although “decompression socks” probably isn't making the final collection. Chatty G's merch mockups also lead to an important discovery: apparently AI believes Dr. K belongs in a crop top. And honestly…he might be willing to wear it. The crew also discusses Tesla's Cyber Cab—a vehicle with no steering wheel or pedals—and whether they could actually sit calmly inside a car while AI handles everything. That conversation quickly evolves into creating the origin story for a hypothetical supervillain who decides to hack autonomous cars because AI took his family's jobs. Completely normal podcast conversation. But underneath the chaos are some patient wins that really matter. One patient who originally found WellnessOne through the podcast is now able to spend significantly more time playing with his granddaughter, one of the things he wanted to get back to most. His granddaughter even handcuffed herself to him with toy handcuffs and informed him he had to do everything she did until she was tired of him. Another patient who had only been sleeping two to three hours at a time reported getting around six to seven hours of sleep and having a stretch of roughly 36–48 hours where he felt considerably better. The only problem? He's missed several appointments—which leads to a bigger conversation about why consistency matters when you're trying to build on early progress. That theme continues with a patient who feels great and decides football season is more important than coming in until December. The team discusses the frustrating side of seeing someone make progress and then watching them risk giving some of it back by disappearing from care for months. On the opposite end is their farmer patient, who keeps discovering that three weeks really does work better for him than stretching visits to four. Also in Episode 31: Planning a real Crack Me Up podcast studioWhy some stickers are simply too good to actually stick anywherePink Fabletics scrubs and the beginning of “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink”Girl math turning nearly $380 of scrubs into a roughly $150 orderThe subscription fine print that almost ruined the dealLincoln road construction appearing no matter which alternate route you take Two WellnessOne patients unknowingly judging each other out in the wildKeeping patients accountable because sometimes caring about someone means telling them what they don't want to hearA five-ish-year-old patient who may know more than the adults in the clinicBuilding a hidden bookcase door for a home libraryAmazon sending an entire box of somebody else's 3D-printing suppliesMochi ice cream taste testingAnd the ongoing realization that every Crack Me Up conversation eventually becomes five completely unrelated conversationsEpisode 31 delivers exactly what the show promises: Coffee. Chaos. Chiropractic. And possibly a $150,000 laser oven. Patient Comebacks, Laser Pods & the Temu Ted Lasso 😂 | Episode 30

Episode 30 of Crack Me Up starts exactly how you would expect—with “Amber showered last night”—and somehow gets stranger from there. Dr. K begins the morning by getting kicked out of a gas station…only to discover the cashier was actually giving him his coffee for free. From there, the team gets into school drop-off chaos, why nobody in Lincoln seems to understand the zipper merge, aggressive Ram drivers, Husker football traffic and Amber finally admitting that Ted Lasso really is as good as Dr. K said it was. But there are also some pretty exciting patient updates. One patient who had previously been able to walk about one mile is now walking as much as six miles, including a trip to Boston where he reported doing a lot of walking without his knee bothering him. The team talks about how consistently showing up, doing the recommended work and taking an active role in your own progress can make a huge difference. Then the conversation goes somewhere completely different. A patient brings up the idea that we may all be living in a simulation, which naturally sends Dr. K, Amber and Aide down a rabbit hole involving The Matrix, reincarnation, generational memories, the Mandela Effect, glitches in reality and whether somebody simply forgot to install the latest software update. Apparently this is what happens when you leave enough time between treatments for conversation. The clinic also discovers another piece of technology that immediately gets Dr. K's attention: a full-body laser pod containing roughly 30–32 Class IV lasers. The team starts imagining how it could potentially fit into WellnessOne, what conditions it might be useful for, how it would work operationally—and, naturally, where they're going to put it before they've even bought it. That quickly becomes an entire imaginary WellnessOne expansion: Laser pod. Sauna. VIP lounge. Espresso machine. Snacks. Maybe even a private wellness retreat. At this rate, somebody needs to take away Dr. K's credit card. Also in Episode 30: Why Takis are dangerously easy to destroy an entire bag ofAide apparently developing a tolerance to increasingly spicy hot sauceRecovering from being sick and accidentally breaking a sugar-and-coffee habitPatients who actually do their home exercises—and patients who improvise with their hoodie insteadWhy “watching the exercise video” is unfortunately not the same as doing the exercisesMcDonald's coffee routines and memories of breakfast sandwichesWhether too much caffeine creates anxiety—or whether Dr. K secretly enjoys functioning thereThe patient who thinks reality shifted into a different simulationMandela Effect rabbit holesMystery glow-in-the-dark ghost-and-cat figures from AmandaWhy Amanda may secretly be the Rebecca of WellnessOneDr. K being labeled the Temu version of Ted LassoKelly discovering WellnessOne through the podcast and now getting back to playing with his grandkids Whether tattoos, chiropractic care—or anything in life—are really “one and done”Dr. K reconsidering whether WellnessOne should eventually move into its own buildingMemories of moving the clinic into its current locationWhy the busiest clinic days sometimes feel easier than the slow onesLord of the Rings, swords, scars and a potential extended-edition movie marathonThe ongoing mystery of why women's clothing has terrible pocketsEpisode 30 is basically the perfect Crack Me Up mix: real patient wins, new technology, clinic growth, questionable science conversations, pop culture and enough random tangents to make you wonder whether the simulation really did glitch. Tesla Drove Us to Topgolf… and Almost Into The Hole

Episode 29 of Crack Me Up starts with one of the biggest clinic updates yet: WellnessOne’s new Back on Trac spinal decompression system has officially arrived. The team talks about why they’re excited about the new table, including heat, vibration, lateral flexion, easier patient positioning, and how much faster it is to get patients comfortably set up. Patients are already loving how relaxing it feels, and Dr. K is already planning experiments to see whether decompression can temporarily—or maybe even longer-term—change measured height. Then comes one of the coolest patient progress stories we’ve shared. A patient who came in with a Baker’s cyst measuring about 5.6 cm had a follow-up MRI after roughly seven to eight weeks of care, and the cyst was reported at less than a centimeter. Even better, she’s gradually getting back to CrossFit—an activity she truly enjoys and had been missing. Of course, this is Crack Me Up, so the medical updates don’t stay serious for long. Wednesday brings another massive rainstorm, and everyone’s favorite neighborhood attraction—The Hole—fills up almost instantly, complete with a whirlpool, muddy water, and renewed fears that frogs are about to move in and permanently traumatize Amanda. The crew also recaps the legendary Topgolf outing for Amber’s 16-year WellnessOne anniversary and Dr. K’s birthday. Neon wigs, bars, darts, questionable shuffleboard skills, a very friendly bartender, “Captain Sweatpants,” a random frog, and plenty of attention from strangers made this one of the more memorable team outings yet. And then there’s Tesla. Amber finally gets behind the wheel—or technically lets the car take the wheel—and experiences Full Self-Driving for herself. The Tesla handles roundabouts, interstate construction and most of the drive surprisingly well…while still proving that parking remains its greatest weakness. At one point, it even backs toward the curb at WellnessOne hard enough that everyone wonders if it’s trying to join The Hole. Also in this episode: Why the new decompression table may help patients who struggle getting on and off traditional tablesThe possibility of using one decompression table mainly for the neck and another for the low backWhether decompression can actually make you tallerPatients encouraging each other while receiving carePlant bingo and the hunt for another plant socialPupusas, birria, churros and the crew designing their dream mealGas prices vs. barely ever charging an electric carDr. K riding his scooter home instead of accepting a rideTesla’s questionable parking choicesIdeas for VIP patient experiencesCyber cabs, red light beds, saunas and future WellnessOne perksThe first ideas for Crack Me Up merch, including hoodies, beanies, plushies, water bottles and other completely unnecessary things everyone will still wantAnd why dressing ridiculously in public may actually make life more funEpisode 29 is equal parts patient wins, new technology, clinic growth, food, Tesla experiments, Topgolf shenanigans and—of course—another chapter in the never-ending saga of The Hole. Neon Mullets, Carrot Cake & We Almost Flooded WellnessOne 😂 | Episode 28

Episode 28-ish of Crack Me Up starts with Dr. K wearing a bright green mullet wig and eating homemade carrot cake, so you already know this one isn't staying on track for long. The wig is actually preparation for Dr. K, Amber, Aide and the crew heading to Topgolf to celebrate Amber's Sweet 16 at WellnessOne and Dr. K's birthday. Somewhere along the way, Dr. K decides he's channeling Steve the Pirate, gets compared to an Oompa Loompa and reveals that he actually had hair down to his shoulder blades roughly 25 years ago.But there is some real clinic talk mixed into the chaos. WellnessOne has another spinal decompression patient getting started after discovering the clinic through the podcast, along with a new knee patient. Dr. K also shares that a new decompression system is currently being built, with heat, vibration, easier patient setup and additional treatment possibilities. The goal is to expand what the clinic can offer while also making visits more efficient for patients. Then we play a new game: Good Idea or Bad Idea? Dr. K weighs in on questions like: Should someone walk on your back?Is sleeping on your stomach bad?Should you crack your own neck?Is walking barefoot actually good for you?Are standing desks better? And does changing positions matter more than finding one “perfect” posture? The main takeaway: your body likes movement and variety, and some things are probably better left to trained professionals. Of course, things eventually go completely off the rails. Aide attempts to change the clinic's water filter, thinks everything is secured correctly, turns the water back on…and suddenly water is spraying everywhere. Amber hears someone yelling for help, comes downstairs and finds the beginning of what could have become WellnessOne's newest indoor water feature. Fortunately, they shut it off before anyone—or anything—was harmed.
