    The Champions Nobody Remembers

    Some sporting champions become immortal. Others win the biggest prize of their lives, produce a moment for the ages, and then somehow slip through the cracks of history. In this episode, we're celebrating the forgotten heroes, unlikely winners and sporting legends who deserve a little more love. There's Buster Douglas, the heavyweight underdog who brought Mike Tyson's reign of terror crashing down. Otherwise known as 'The Analyst' Simon has played for the likes of Middlesex and Durham, along with transitioning into the world of media, reporting and commentating on many major platforms such as the BBC and Channel 4. He also hosts his own podcast 'The Analyst Inside Cricket'.     The Solheim Cup has grown into one of the prime vents in the sporting calendar. A tournament comprised of emotion, unforgettable moments and controversy (in part). It's certainly helped transform the landscape of the women’s game. In this episode, we take a journey through the history of the Solheim Cup, from its beginnings in 1990 to the global sporting spectacle it has become today. Along the way, we’re joined by one of the competition’s most important figures, Alison Nicholas. Alison has experienced the Solheim Cup from almost every possible angle. She played in the inaugural event at Lake Nona in 1990, was part of the European team that secured its first victory just two years later, represented Europe in six consecutive Solheim Cups, and later captained the side — famously leading Europe to victory at Killeen Castle in Ireland in 2011.
