Unashamed at Last I Shame, Scripture, Regret, Emotional Healing, Comparison

kingdom Durogene - Certified Life Coach, Christian Author

Do you struggle with shame, guilt, or regret? Do you wish there was a simple, faith-filled path to emotional healing and freedom? Welcome to UNASHAMED AT LAST - Where we replace shame with Scripture rooted identity. I’m Kingdom—a wife, a mum, and most importantly, one who is deeply loved by Jesus. I know what it feels like to live for everyone else’s approval while silently struggling inside. To smile outwardly while inwardly feeling broken, guilty, ashamed, and unworthy. As a Christian woman actively serving in church leadership, I found myself in a relationship that did not glorify God. I became pregnant out of wedlock, and shortly after, my fiancé disappeared when he found out about the pregnancy. Suddenly, I went from being the “good Christian woman” to feeling exposed, abandoned, and completely ashamed. All I wanted to do was hide. I loved God deeply. But I was silently struggling. Everything began to change when this Scripture came alive to me: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” — 3 John 1:2 I realised God didn’t just care about my spiritual life—He cared about my soul: my mind, emotions, inner healing, and restoration. That revelation started me on a journey of emotional healing, renewing my mind with God’s truth, and learning how to truly live free. And now, I want to walk that journey with you. If you’re ready for… -Honest and relatable conversations, -Biblical truth for emotional healing, -Practical steps to break free from shame and regret, -Encouragement to remove the mask and live authentically, -And guidance on building healthy boundaries and walking confidently in your God-given identity, Then this podcast is for you! So, grab your favourite drink, get comfortable, and let’s heal together🤍

    42. Can’t Stop Replaying Your Past- How to Let Go of Regret Without Punishing Yourself

Can’t Stop Replaying Your Past? How to Let Go of Regret Without Punishing Yourself Do you keep replaying something from your past, wondering what you should have done differently? Not every regret means you did something wrong. Sometimes regret comes from a mistake that needs addressing. Sometimes it comes from a decision you would make differently with what you know now. And sometimes, it comes from an outcome or season you simply wish had been different. In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we’re looking at three different ways to respond to regret: responsibility, learning and acceptance. You’ll discover how to recognise what your regret actually requires from you, take responsibility without living in condemnation, carry the wisdom from your past without carrying the punishment, and begin accepting the things you simply cannot rewrite. Sis, you cannot go back and give yesterday’s version of you everything you know today—but you can take today’s wisdom into tomorrow. Key Scriptures Proverbs 28:13 — Confession, change and mercy. Romans 8:1 — There is no condemnation in Christ. Philippians 3:13 — Leaving what is behind and moving forward. Ecclesiastes 3:1 — There is a season for everything. In this episode: regret • past mistakes • self-blame • guilt • shame • Scripture • self-condemnation • forgiveness • acceptance • moving forward 🎧 If this episode encouraged you, follow Unashamed At Last, download the episode, leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, and share it with another woman who may be struggling to move beyond her past. 🤍 Join the Unashamed At Last Facebook Community 💌 Become an Unashamed At Last Insider Take responsibility for what is yours. 41. Still Feel Like You’re Not Enough- What Scripture Says About Shame and Your Worth

Still Feel Like You’re Not Enough? What Scripture Says About Shame and Your Worth Do you ever feel like you need to achieve more, do more or become more before you can finally feel “enough”? In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we’re looking at what Scripture says about shame, self-worth and identity—and why your value was never meant to depend on your performance. We’ll explore how shame can keep us covering, striving and trying to prove ourselves, why still having areas to grow doesn’t make you less than, and how Scripture-rooted identity gives you somewhere secure to stand even on the days when you don’t feel confident. Sis, maybe the question isn’t “Am I enough?” but “Where is my identity rooted?” Key Scriptures Genesis 1:27 — Created in the image of God. Genesis 3:7, 10 — Shame, covering and hiding. Hebrews 4:16 — Grace invites us to come near. Philippians 1:6 — God is still at work in you. 1 Corinthians 12 — You were never designed to be everything. 40. Emotional Healing- Why Do I Still Get Triggered? How to Stop Letting Your Emotions Take Over

Do your emotions sometimes take over before you've had time to think? Maybe a comment, someone's tone, feeling overlooked or an unexpected situation triggers a strong reaction—and afterwards you're left wondering, “Why did that affect me so much?” In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we're talking about emotional healing, emotional triggers and what Scripture teaches us about responding to our emotions without shame. You'll learn a simple four-part Unashamed Reset — TRIGGER, NOTICE, TRUTH, CHOOSE—to help you recognise what you're feeling, uncover the story underneath your reaction, return to God's truth and choose your response rather than allowing your emotions to choose it for you. Sis, being triggered doesn't necessarily mean you've gone backwards. Sometimes healing looks like learning to respond differently when an old feeling shows up. Key Scriptures Proverbs 4:23 — Guarding your heart because everything you do flows from it. James 1:19 — Being quick to listen and slow to speak or become angry. Psalm 139:23–24 — Inviting God to search our hearts. Romans 12:2 — Renewing our minds with truth. Philippians 4:8 — Directing our thoughts towards what is true. 1 Samuel 1 — Hannah's example of bringing deep emotion honestly before God. 39. Struggling with Loneliness-Why Being Around People Isn’t Fixing It—and How to Build Healthier Connection

Have you ever felt lonely even when you're surrounded by people—or found yourself waiting for someone else to make the first move? In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we're talking about loneliness, meaningful friendships and healthy Christian community, and how shame, comparison and feeling “less than” can quietly keep us disconnected from the relationships we desire. I also share part of my own journey—from struggling to connect because I often felt less qualified than the women around me, to learning a simple principle that changed how I approached relationships: “Relate to people the way you would love people to relate to you.” Sis, healthy community isn't only something we find. It's something we participate in, contribute to and help create. Key Scriptures Acts 2:42–47 — The early church participating in genuine community. Romans 12:3 — Seeing ourselves with a healthy perspective. Luke 6:31 — Treating others as we would like to be treated. Philippians 2:4 — Taking a genuine interest in others. Galatians 6:2 — Carrying one another's burdens. 1 Corinthians 12:18 — God's design for belonging and connection. Hebrews 10:24–25 — The importance of gathering together. 38. Fear Is Keeping You from Moving Forward- How to Make Hard Decisions with Biblical Confidence

Do you know what you need to do, but fear keeps making you hesitate? Maybe you need to set a boundary, have a difficult conversation, start something new, walk away from something familiar or finally make the decision you've been postponing. In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we're talking about how fear, shame and second-guessing can affect our decisions—and how Scripture can help us move forward with biblical confidence. You'll discover how to recognise what you're really afraid of losing, why discomfort doesn't always mean you're making the wrong decision, and how to stop waiting for complete certainty before taking your next step. Sis, you don't have to know how the whole journey will unfold. Sometimes you simply need to ask: “What do I already know—and what is the next step?” Key Scriptures Proverbs 3:5–6 — Trusting God rather than relying solely on our own understanding. Esther 4:11, 16 — Courage doesn't require the absence of fear. Luke 14:28 — Considering the cost before moving forward. Joshua 1:9 — Moving courageously with the assurance of God's presence. 37. Struggling with Low Self-Esteem- Why Other People’s Validation Can’t Tell You Who You Are

Do you feel confident about yourself until someone questions you? Do you find yourself waiting for a particular person to notice, approve, compliment or reassure you before you can really feel good about yourself? Sis, there is nothing wrong with wanting encouragement. We all want to feel seen, appreciated and affirmed. But the problem begins when encouragement becomes evidence of our worth and we begin depending on other people's responses to tell us whether we are valuable. In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we're talking about low self-esteem, validation and identity—and exploring how shame can cause us to look outside ourselves for reassurance about who we are. You'll discover how to recognise when validation has become your measuring stick, uncover what you're hoping another person's approval will prove, stop turning rejection into an identity statement, and learn to receive healthy affirmation without building your identity on it. We'll also look at Leah's story in Genesis 29 and what we can learn from her longing to be loved and chosen by Jacob—and the significant shift when she says, “This time I will praise the LORD.” Because people can encourage you, celebrate you and help you see good things in yourself—but they cannot be the source of your worth. Key Scriptures Proverbs 16:24 — Gracious words are sweet to the soul. Romans 8:38–39 — Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ. Ephesians 1:6 — You are accepted in the Beloved. 1 Peter 2:9 — You are chosen and belong to God. Ephesians 2:10 — You are God's workmanship. Genesis 29 — Leah's journey from longing for Jacob's validation towards praising the Lord. Remember Your worth is not waiting for somebody else's confirmation. 36. People-Pleasing and Shame- Why Trying to Keep Everyone Happy Is Keeping You from Being Yourself

Do you find yourself saying yes when you really want to say no, over-explaining your decisions, avoiding difficult conversations or worrying about how people will react when you disappoint them? People-pleasing can look like kindness, helpfulness and even being a “good Christian woman.” But sometimes underneath it is something deeper: fear of rejection, shame, criticism or losing people's approval. In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we're exploring the connection between people-pleasing and shame and how constantly trying to keep everyone happy can cause you to slowly lose sight of who you really are. Sis, caring about people isn't the problem. But caring about people and needing people to be pleased with you are two very different things. In this episode, you'll discover how to: Stop confusing someone's disappointment with your failure Recognise when “being good” has quietly become a performance Understand the difference between genuine peace and avoiding conflict Let people know the real you instead of constantly adjusting yourself to gain approval Allow your Scripture-rooted identity, rather than other people's expectations, to shape who you're becoming We'll also look at Martha in Luke 10:38–42 and consider an important question: Am I serving from love—or has being good, helpful and needed become the way I try to secure my place? Key Scriptures Philippians 2:4 — Caring for the interests of others. Galatians 1:10 — God's approval versus the approval of people. Ephesians 1:6 — Accepted in the Beloved. Romans 12:18 — As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Proverbs 29:25 — The fear of man can become a snare. Colossians 3:3 — Your life is hidden with Christ in God. Luke 10:38–42 — Martha, Mary and the weight of being worried about many things. Remember Other people's opinions can inform you without defining you. 35. Who Are You Without the Roles You Carry-Finding Your Identity Beyond Wife Mum Career and Ministry

Who are you when you take away the titles you use to describe yourself? Wife. Mum. Professional. Leader. Carer. Ministry worker. The dependable one. The person everybody calls when they need something. These roles can be meaningful and God-given—but they were never meant to become the source of your identity according to scripture. In this episode of Unashamed At Last, we’re exploring what happens when the roles we carry become so closely connected to our sense of worth that a change in season leaves us wondering, “Who am I now?” Sis, your roles may change, your children may grow, relationships may shift, careers may end and ministry seasons may look different—but a changing role does not mean a disappearing identity. In this episode, you’ll discover how to recognise when being needed, productive or successful has become connected to your sense of worth; why your identity must go deeper than your roles; and how to begin rediscovering who you are in Christ. You’ll also work through the “Who Am I?” Reset, a practical exercise to help you separate who you are from what you do. Key Scriptures: Colossians 3:3 — Your life is hidden with Christ in God. Ephesians 1:6 — You are accepted in the Beloved. Matthew 3:17 — Jesus was affirmed as the beloved Son before His public ministry. 1 Peter 2:9 — You are chosen and belong to God. Remember Your roles describe important parts of your life. But they were never meant to become the source of your identity.   Enjoying the podcast?
