Two guys who, as far as I know, have produced nothing of value or importance in modern culture, give us their riveting hot takes such as ‘I hated it’ or ‘I hate the cover’ etc. One of the hosts is hard pressed to remember character names or even titles of the books discussed. Feels like they’re trading on King’s current resurgence in popularity, rather than a project born out of love for the subject. Maybe it - and they - mature into the process but the first few eps are hard going and just downright unlikable.

I found this podcast and it has been my best find of 2025! You can hear how much work and effort has gone into producing it, and I really appreciate it. Also shout out to the bonus episodes they do on Patreon - worth every penny in my opinion :) such a gold mine of information on old uncle stevie in here, all presented critically. I feel more educated for having listened in. Highly recommend.

I started listening to this pod as a way to finally motivate me to read the danged Dark Tower. This did not come to pass. Instead I realised that my hypothetical interest and presumed appreciation for Uncle Steve’s prose was hindered by, you know, actually having to do the damn thing. Instead, I have elected to sit back, and enjoy the ride provided by these esteemed hosts. Gaining insight which would be beyond me, and musical critiques I didn’t realise I wanted, this is, indeed, the audiobook (thanks to the 5 Sentence Summary) for critical thinking
