    Episode 6: Negotiating the green space between apathy and spirituality with Filmmaker Ed Sayers

    In this episode we sit down with filmmaker Ed Sayers to discuss his new documentary film, Super Nature. A love letter to nature created on Super 8 film across continents by 40 filmmakers, amateurs and environmental storytellers Beyond the film we discuss motivations for environmental activism, and how small acts can waver big results. Through understanding they ways in which industrial advancements have impacted our relationship with nature, how can we reverse the damage and return to a simpler way of being?  The episode concludes by questioning the methods and purpose of image capture, considering that being present may be nature’s greatest lesson, if only we stopped for a moment and listened to the birds.  Super Nature is out in UK cinemas now.     Episode 5: Discussing how gender shapes the expectations of artists with DJ Spicy Prawn

    In this episode we are joined by Bristol-based DJ Spicy Prawn, in the lead-up to her first Boomtown set. As a female DJ working within a male-dominated industry, she shares her experience of working within grassroots collectives and the challenges she has faced through the different stages of her career. The conversation extends to consider issues regarding pay, dress code and weight, triggered by the recent public discourse surrounding Ariana Grande. From this we examine the sexualisation of women in the public sphere and question the continued normalisation of projecting weight expectations onto another. The conversation closes by discussing the disparity within performance expectations between mainstream male and female artists. We end by arguing for a separation between the art and the artist, criticising how the necessary prosecution of a sexual predator remains a colloquial dinner party question.     In this episode we continue our conversation surrounding safeguarding children in entertainment industries, narrowing our lens to identify how consent is understood and used. The conversation expands to consider the nature of vulnerability within the context of consent, and how processes must shift to accommodate an informed and fair agreement for all parties.     Episode 2: Seeking rights for children in the care system with former Investigator Ann Beswick

    In this episode, we highlight Detective Investigator Maggie Oliver's landmark case against the UK Government, challenging a failure to strengthen the rights and protections of children in care. With reference to the National Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (2018), this episode considers the complexity of safeguarding vulnerable children and the inconsistent implementation of multi-agency working.     Episode 1: Identifying workplace abuse by celebrity association with Clinical Specialist Naomi Watt

    In our first episode we take on the career of children's author and TV personality David Walliams. Once regarded as a national treasure, now the subject of abuse allegations, our conversation dissects the inadequate safeguarding procedures of publisher Harper Collins regarding the protection of its staff. We expand the conversation to consider society's tendency to shame victims, side with the abuser, and the patriarchal indoctrination to devalue women's intuition regarding self-protective instincts.
