The Toronto Raptors are your new NBA 2019 champions! Kawhi Leonard is a NBA Finals MVP, once again! Therefore, he truly has become the “King in the North!” In this episode of Knicksfandom, the guys give an exclusive 2019 NBA Finals wrap-up! They discuss if Kevin Durant should have played in a “do or die” Game 5, which ultimately resulted in him suffering a season ending injury, in which he ruptured his Achilles tendon. Recently, LeBron James told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, “It would be amazing to play alongside the superstar power forward!” Moreover, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported that Davis and James met for dinner Friday night after the Lakers’ 112-104 victory over the Pelicans. In addition, Davis purchased a home in Los Angeles at $7.5 million, early this year. This has added to the speculation that Davis is indeed heading to L.A., to join LeBron either as a free agent or perhaps sooner, via trade. Should the league look into this incident, as a potential tampering case? FAST BREAK: Are the Utah Jazz making a “push” after defeating the Golden State Warriors 108-103? There was a recently article by Shane Rhodes of Basketball Insiders. com. And the subject was: “Finding a Point Guard for the Phoenix Suns.” What available point guard do you think would realistically fit the Suns and whom should they trade to make this deal occur? Austin Rivers released by the Suns! Goran Dragic out for two months after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee! KNICKS WEEKLY ROUND-UP: The Knicks recently lost 4 games in a row! The Knicks current record is 9-25! And they are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference! The Knicks lost to the Pacers 110-99! The Knicks lost to the Suns 128-110! A recent medical update regarding Kristaps Porzingis stated that his left knee which underwent ACL reconstruction (February 13, 2018) confirmed that his knee is healing well, and he has made good progress in his rehabilitation. Once he reaches the remaining rehab benchmarks, he will advance to on-court team drills and activities. He will be re-evaluated in mid-February. The Knicks defeated the Charlotte Hornets in a thrilling game, even though Mitchell Robinson and Frank Ntilikina both suffered ankle injuries. The Knicks were also without Trey Burke who is still suffering from a sprained knee. The Knicks also lost earlier in the week to the Hornets by a score of 119-107 and followed that loss by losing to the Cavs 113-106. Win/ loss predictions for the Knicks this upcoming week: (Pacers, Suns, 76ers, Hawks). Wily Hernangomez of the Charlotte Hornets recently stated, “I miss KP. I think my job is to get him to Charlotte.” Any worries guys? Joakim Noah who previously signed a four-year, $72 million dollars contract with the Knicks, our viewas about his recent interview with the Ringer’s Chris Vernon. Eric Anderson and member of the ’94 Eastern Conference Champions, recently died at the age of 48, from reportedly “cardiac-related” issues. He was married for a decade to celebrity trainer, Tracy Anderson. Through their union, they had a son by the name of Sam. Anderson was mostly known for his college basketball career at Indiana University. As a student-athlete, he was named the 1989 Big Ten freshmen of the year and most outstanding player of the 1992 NCAA tournament West regional, according to the Indianapolis Star. Anderson helped to lead his team to the Final Four in 1992. Alonzo Trier was recently signed by the Knicks to a two-year, $7 million dollars contract, Ron Baker as we recently speculated was subsequently released in order to make room for Trier continued spot in the Knicks rotation. The trade originally involved the Memphis Grizzlies and the Brooks brothers aka the brothers Brooks, on some level. But eventually, ended up being the Phoenix Suns sending Trevor Ariza to the Washington Wizards for Kelly Oubre Jr. and Austin Rivers. FAST BREAK- Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has agreed to a three-year contract extension at a “hometown discount” of $34 million dollars. There is player option on the third year. The Bulls had lost 11 of their previous 12 games and they had a 5-19 start! Hoiberg NBA coaching record was115-155! - In other Chicago Bulls news, Lauri Marrkhanen finally returned from an elbow injury (which caused him to miss the first 23 games of the season). Marrkhanen led the Bulls to a much-needed win with 24 points and the game winning basket over the Thunder in a 114-112 win, which also the new Bulls Head Coach Jim Boylen’s home debut! Unfortunately, they followed that win with an epic loss to the Celtics 133-77! - A three-team NBA trade recently took place. The Milwaukee Bucks acquired point guard George Hill from Cleveland, and forward Jason Smith and a 2021 second-round pick from Washington. - The Cavs received Matthew Dellavedova and center John Henson, along with 2021 first-and second-round draft picks from Milwaukee. - The Wizards acquired Sam Dekker from Cleveland via Milwaukee and swapped second round draft picks with Cleveland, with the Cavs sending the Wizards’ 2021 first round lottery protected pick and may not convey until 2024, back to Washington for the Wizards’ 2022 selection. - This deal could also potentially save the Bucks about $19 million dollars next season if they choose not to keep Hill (only $1 million guaranteed). FAST BREAK- - Masai Ujiri, Toronto Raptors President of Operations in a recent two-day celebration of his Giants of Africa basketball program, Masai Ujiri stated and I quote, “I’m confident to say there are 10 Embiids walking around, there are 10 whosevers walking around in Africa.” Africa’s current population is presently estimated between 1.2 billion and 1.3 billion, with the median age being 19.4 years according to worldmeters.info. Is Ujiri being somewhat disrespectful or is he just being truthful? OPEN COURT- - Danny D, asks the guys about their opinions about Giannis Antetokunmpo avoiding workouts with other NBA stars: I don't 'buddy-buddy' with my opponents. BEHIND THE SCENES- - Flau breaks down the Westchester Knicks recent loss to the Oklahoma City Blue 107-102 in the NBA G League! HOT TOPIC- - Gregg Popovich recently lamented the currently aesthetics in the NBA. “There’s no basketball anymore, there’s no beauty in it,” he said. “These days there’s such an emphasis on the three because it’s proven to be analytically correct.” - Also, Shaq recently gave the “Superman” moniker to Giannis Antetokounmpo because he plays through the post and even went on to say, “He does what a lot of big guys need to do, take their big as*, down in the paint.” - Therefore, the guys discuss should NBA teams continue to chase the 3-point shot as whole, or should certain teams like the current Philadelphia 76ers (Embid recently complained about having to play near the 3-point line, since they acquired Jimmy Butler, in order to make more spacing.) go back to playing through the post like a lot of teams did in the 1990’s teams such as the Houston Rockets with Hakeem Olajuwon, the Indiana Pacers with Rick Smits, and even our own New York Knicks with Patrick Ewing), or is it too late and this “style of play” has already been permanently phased out of the NBA? {New York Skyline.jpg) C.
