Alex owns and runs a luxury bespoke men's tailors, delivering Saville Row quality and expertise but without the stuffiness of a traditional tailor (in her words). Sharing her journey from employee to company owner, Alex's career has seen her team's services dress some incredibly important and successful men. Alex has seen a huge business rise but also moments of worry and anxiety where she has had to push herself to get through the tougher times. Speaking about her team, Alex draws comparisons to her home and family life, as well as business, quoting: "I don't run my home like a boot camp, so why would I run my business like one!" Her team benefits from being contributors to success. Alex believes they should all have a voice, and feel that their efforts make a difference. Over 17 years of operation, Alexandra Wood Bespoke has transformed from a sole trader mentality to an organisation that carries important company visions and values that every team member is encouraged to represent. Alex expresses the need for her business to have a consistent approach to talking with clients across all mediums, as ultimately, the name above the door is hers, and the reputation is built on years of hard work, investment; and some personal struggle, therefore, the team must preserve the DNA of the company whilst been seen to bring their uniqueness to every interaction.
