Welcome to the learning and development pod cast that focuses on the learning and delivery of training within whatever business you are in. We will be starting from the ground up, from basic delivery methods to new ideas.
Lets talk feedback
If you would like to provide feedback to me, please use the following:
In today's episode we talk feedback
3 main types of feedback:
Appreciation - this is all about building relationships (saying thanks)
Coaching - this is about guiding, finding better ways to do things (see previous episode lets talk coaching)
Evaluation - this is where you stand, what you do well, what you need to improve.
Formative is throughout
Summative is at the end.
What makes great feedback?
Its specific, timely, meaningful and candid.
You need to listen, this means not interrupting
Your responses need to be measured, if face to face be aware of your body language.
Be open to the feedback
Understand the message, if you don’t, ask.
Reflect on what has been said, and decide what to do.
Follow up. Have I made any improvement.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing you in the next episode.
Lets talk Coaching
In today's episode we take a look at coaching.
I am joined by guest Scott McNeil who works in the world of Sport, and has some fantastic insight into what being a coach means.
If you have any feedback on this episode, or would like to submit a suggestion, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, we look forward to your thoughts.
Lets talk evaluations
In today's episode we are talking the importance of evaluations. Some of the methods of collecting them, and how metrics apply to evaluations. Talking from a training delivery point of view, I talk about, for me, what is the best evaluation question to ask, and go into why.
Also, for some feedback from everyone, I have created an email account where, if you feel willing to, you can send me some feedback on the podcast.
Please reach out to me at email@example.com
Thanks for listening folks.
Lets talk material
This episode is all about material options available and delivery of the material. We talk a little about designing the material, as well as different delivery methods.
System approach to training and how it can relate to you
In the last episode we talked about the system approach to training. In this episode we are looking at how it can be applied to you.
Your first day in L&D - Systems approach to training
In this very first episode we are going to be looking at what is known as a systems approach to training.
Its your first day, and you have been asked to create some material. The systems approach to training will help you fit all the pieces together as to how we are going to begin building that training.
Stay tuned for further episodes where we will be looking at the construction on material, and delivery.
