Management Learning Podcast

The Management Learning podcast is published fortnightly: we host informal discussions and interviews on how to be a manager (at any level) and a human being at the same time. We talk about the kind of support managers need from the workplace to perform at their best and how to get out of the 'accidental manager' trap.

Episode #7 - Why is equity more important than equality in the workplace?

Special guest Neil Hopkins, a freelance communications leader, joined Diana, Gordon & Louise to talk about why we need equity in the workplace as well as equality. Neil brings his experiences of working in the equity and equality space within the NHS and we explore what we mean by equity. We discuss why appreciating the differences between us is important and Neil offers some examples from his work of the damaging effects of not truly supporting organisational diversity.
