    A Story About My Mother

    A Story About My Mother

    Happy Mother’s Day!

This story is dedicated to my mother and is about my mother Susan Tan.

For the past nine years, I’ve recorded most of our telephone conversations. In 2019, when my mother found herself in her 70s, newly divorced after more than 40 years of marriage and looking for the next love of her life, I started to record more of our conversations.

What started as daughter-to-mother exchanges of advice, has turned into an eight-part Audible Original series called “Now or Never: How to Find Love When Love Feels Impossible.”

Together, we made this series with the intention to inspire and encourage anyone who has given up on love.

Throughout the series, I am my mother’s dating coach. I help her navigate making a dating profile, scammers, ghosters, going on a first date, getting heartbroken — all the ups and downs of love and dating.

    This is episode one.

WILD: Megan Tells Erick Her Love Story

WILD: Megan Tells Erick Her Love Story

We made a rom-com! Megan Tan tells Erick Galindo a rom-com inspired by the time she fell in love during a wild time in her life when time itself felt distorted and sped up to an exponential degree. It’s a fiction meets non-fiction romantic comedy… sort of. Megan Tan explains.

The episode is intended for mature audiences. Listener discretion is advised.

Episode 15 - I HEART CHUCK

Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed this particular episode. My dad died earlier this year, and he was very much a man-myth-legend kinda guy. Listening to your episode, it felt like I got to spend half an hour buying a car with my dad and it really made my day. Thank you!

Must listen for a 20something

I found the podcast only after it ended, but i’ve listened to season 1 almost three times since i discovered it last summer. As a college grad in her early 20s going through so many of the anxieties and navigating similar issues discussed here, the podcast feels like a collection of reassuring advice from a big sister who’s also been there & done that.

So comforting to hear when I am going through a similar phase in my life.

I am a 23 year old teacher from the UK and having a crisis of not knowing how to be an adult. It so hard to have a social life, earn money, pay tax, deal with difficult work colleagues, be in a relationship and be a good friend and decide what is important and how to juggle these things - it feel so tough. It's really hard to know if you are doing it right or what to prioritise or whether doing a job which pays the bills is okay or are you doing enough to 'live the dream'. Everyone says the 20's are you golden years... are they....are they really? This podcast has been a massive support at a mini crisis point in my life. I listened to the first 20 in the space of 2 weeks - making my commute so much better!!! I have now downloaded the next 20 podcasts so can't wait to listen! THANK YOU MEGAN for making me feel better about being 23 and not having a clue what is going on in my life. You're an inspiration and a massive support for us millennials!!
