Welcome to Mixed Up, a podcast for mixed race people everywhere and for anyone looking into a deeper insight on race and identity. Hosted by sustainability consultant and creative director Emma Slade Edmondson, and Nicole Ocran, writer and co-founder of The Creator Union.

The show is about straddling two worlds and multiple identities. Now more than ever, it feels like people of mixed heritage are seeking out their space to talk about their lived experiences. But despite searching, we could find very little to relate to. We decided to make something we would have appreciated hearing.

This has been inspiring to listen to

This podcasts identifies my own struggles with identity. It’s been so helpful to listen to this open and frank discussion and love listening to this on a lunchtime walk. Such an important forum ❤️👏🏽

@familieslikeours ,

On the white mum episodes…

I’ve just finished listening to both episodes and I’m blown away, the way Emma and Nicole delicately discussed and reflected on the contributions was so beautiful and had me laughing (as usual) and tearing up in parts (also fairly usual when listening to the mixed up podcast!)

I’m honoured to have been able to contribute - Thank you so much for the @familieslikeours (Instagram) shout at the end - hopefully more mixed families will find our community network as a result.

Hearing you both discuss parenting mixed kids from the perspective of monoracial parents really made me feel a calmness (there’s a better word but it’s escapes me!)

Love this podcast!!! Sylvie
