Welcome to Mixed Up, a podcast for mixed race people everywhere. Hosted by sustainability expert and creative director Emma Slade Edmondson, and content creator and writer Nicole Ocran.

The show is about straddling two worlds and multiple identities. Now more than ever, it feels like people of mixed heritage are seeking out their space to talk about their lived experiences. But despite searching, we could find very little to relate to. We decided to make something we would have appreciated hearing.

Thank you for creating something we all so deeply needed!

Yesterday I binged all three episodes in one and it.was.EVERYTHING! So I had to reach out to these Queens and congratulate them! Emma was curious to know which episode I enjoyed the most and honestly, I couldn’t answer!

I loved all three episodes for so many different reasons. I got so lost in all three conversations and found them all so enjoyable, even when the topics weren’t ‘positive’. I don’t think I can pick one in particular but episode 2 has defo compelled me to watch The Rachel Divide today! I’ve loved delving into the culture mix shares too!

This podcast as a whole is so relevant, so relatable and real and I’m already itching for the next episode. These are the ‘uncomfortable’ conversations I want to be engaging with and hearing others perspectives on, that I struggle with because I have such a white focused ‘circle’.

Ladies, I think you’re both extremely inspiring women and you so perfectly highlight something that, at times is so triggering. Your energy is infectious and you’re both such role models. I’m buckled in for the journey and I can’t wait to see where you adventure takes you. Thank you for starting something we all so deeply needed and congratulations 🤎🙏🏽
