Welcome to the John Granger Show!
I was urged to start listening to this podcast by a fellow Potterhead, but I've now abandoned it, mainly because of the so-called (and, presumably self-styled)"Hogwarts Professor". The way he hijacks every episode has become so irritating that I've just given up on it. None of the other contributors can barely get a word in once he gets going, apart from one memorable episode when English writer, Dolores Gordon-Smith wiped the floor with him and simply talking over him.
I also feel that the guest students get a raw deal from him, they are on the whole, pretty much ignored and often their contributions are simply steamrollered over, especially if they differ in their opinions from Mr Granger.
His presenting style - sounding like a de-testicled mouse according to one listener early on in the series - leaves a lot to be desired. He is obviously very knowledgable on the whole HP series, but his shouty, over excited delivery just turned me off.
I had high hopes for this podcast, looking forward to serious discussins, but as good as the content has been, I'm afraid that I just can't get past Mr Granger's total domination of the entire broadcasts.
