Episode 63 - Blended Families Feat. Author Jennie Guay
In this episode, I talk to Jennie Guay. A friend and the author of Howie Blend: Playdate Adventures with Family and Friends. As part of a same-sex family, Jennie’s main goal was to create a story reflective of her own children’s day to day life.
The story cleverly weaves in the challenges and dynamics that these blended families face, while still showing that these families are just as loving and healthy as any other. If you are a single parent, in a same-sex relationship, or part of any other form of blended family then this episode is perfect for you!

Episode 62 - Parenting through challenges
In this episode, we will be looking at some of the most common mistakes that parents make when children are facing challenges.
Everyone goes through challenges, so It’s not about trying to prevent them from ever happening. It's about gaining as much as we can and learning from these challenges. So when our children face them it’s not just about survival, it’s about learning how to grow from the experience.
As parents, we should be coaching kids rather than jumping to their rescue. This teaches them resilience and how to resolve things for themselves. This prepares and equips them for similar situations that may arise in the future.
Episode 61 Back to School
In this episode, I’m discussing the transition that comes with kids finally going back to school after the Summer Holidays. Making sure the kids are okay as they get ready to go back to school is a must but… It’s just as important to make sure you’re okay as well. Finding the things you enjoy that are good for your own mental health and sanity is incredibly important. So you need to make time for them and start re-establishing your self-care routine. Episode 60 School transitions, how to smooth the road!
In this episode, I'm exploring why transitions can be hard and how we can make them easier. Whether it's moving schools, classes or starting secondary schools this one will help you work this through!
A Big Thank You!
Lean into gratitude as we enter a new phase of the pandemic!
Gratitude feels great, and is good for us, but sometimes we need a bit of a reminder to do it. Thanking three people who have helped you during these past few months will be rewarding for you and them.

Really getting a lot out of Laura’s approach and the model she adopts. She gives easily-relatable examples and advice for both adults and children and is helping me to view everything in a more positive light.
Well worth a listen 😊
Experiencing the same with my little boy! Will definitely take this on board and give it a try!
