No Crew. No Support. Just 100 Miles. | OutRun Us Podcast | Ep. 15

After a little break, we’re back! In this episode, we catch up on everything that’s happened over the past few weeks—from travelling across the US, England, Latvia, and Ireland to taking on another 100-mile challenge. This time was different. Kitija set out to run another 100 miles, but this time in just 24 hours, completely alone. No crew. No aid stations. No one carrying her kit or planning her nutrition—everything she needed was on her back. We talk about why Kitija wanted to take on this challenge, what it was like mentally and physically, and how it compared to the 100 miles we both completed together just last month. We also chat about our preparations for Moab 240, Taylor’s recent injury and recovery, and the return of the OutRun Us Challenge.  In this episode, we cover: Running 100 miles in 24 hoursWhat it’s like to run completely soloTravelling through the US, England, Latvia & IrelandPreparing for Moab 240Taylor’s injury updateThe return of the OutRun Us Challenge Whether you’re training for your next race, curious about ultrarunning, or simply enjoy hearing the stories behind the miles, we hope you enjoy this episode. Worlds Toughest Mile, Running The Date and Filling Our Cup First | OutRunUs Podcast | Ep 11

In this episode of The OutRun Us Podcast, the girls dive into Tay taking on the infamous World’s Toughest Mile — despite barely knowing what it actually involved until the day before. What sounded like “just a mile” quickly turned into burpees, lunges, bear crawls, and pure survival mode, with the bear crawl nearly breaking Tay completely. The girls also talk about Kitija’s April challenge: Run The Date. At the time of recording, she was on Day 25 — meaning 25 miles in a single day — while balancing recovery, life, and the mental challenge of showing up every day. The episode also covers Tay completely changing her routine, switching from late-night runs to morning runs to “fill her cup” first, helping her go from running 25 miles a week to 70–80. The girls get into deeper conversations too: finding purpose in running beyond achievements, whether Kitija is still sad, and what it means to have friends who truly push you towards your dreams and know exactly what you’re capable of. What we cover: • Tay completing the World’s Toughest Mile • Burpees, lunges, and bear crawls • Kitija’s Run The Date challenge — Day 25 • Tay switching to morning runs • Going from 25 miles a week to 70–80 • Finding purpose beyond achievements • Friendships that push you forward Follow The OutRun Us Podcast for more ultrarunning, endurance culture, and honest conversations about figuring life out through running.
