I want to leave on a positive note and encourage women not to let disagreements stop them from being in spaces they belong in. In this episode, I sit down with Shanti and Morgan, a lesbian couple who have been active in SisterSpace, a women’s festival in Maryland for ten years. We discuss how they manage ideological differences with some of the women and the positive influence of this space on their lives. In 2021, Hilary Oxley and Margaret Curnow, brought a claim to the New Zealand Human Rights Review Tribunal claiming discrimination against LAVA on the basis of LAVA’s political opinions.  I believe it's important to support our rights as lesbians, no matter what location in the world we might live.     Debbi met Jessi when Jessi was still living as a man, a trans man to be precise. It wasn’t what Debbi thought she wanted in a relationship, but there was something about Jessi that she couldn’t walk away from. Although Jessi had lived for over 2 decades as a man, all Debbi saw when she looked at her partner was the woman inside. The woman she loved.
