Excellent podcast
Excellent podcast but I miss stamps dot com.
Fantastic - except for the science-free vegan crap
An awesome and science-based podcast which is always entertaining and thought-provoking. However, the plant-based obsession runs headlong against that. There are plenty of amazing American and other scientists doing tremendous work on showing how grazing livestock, for example, make meadows and grassland fantastic carbon sinks. Way way better than alternatives.
Also, growing grains and seeds for vegans kills many many more small mammals and insects, uses more water and so on than delivering the equivalent or better nutrition from livestock plus crops.
The idea that the next pandemic that’s really serious will come from “factory farming” when these facilities in the West have amazing biosecurity is overlooked. Obsession about small scale farming overlooks its inherent weaknesses and, for example, prevalence of E Coli, Salmonella and lots of stress and other welfare issues in free range chicken ......
And of course the parts of the earth’s surface used for grazing are for the vast part totally unsuitable for planting crops. Like, the soil is so poor that it is impossible.
It’s a shame that science goes out of the window - not even an acknowledgement that there is an argument to be had! - when veganism gets going.
And the list of disease which apparently all came from domesticated animals is more than unlikely ..... you might also look at the number of funguses and bacteria that kill people that arrive from the environment and the rise of living in houses and caves.
Other than that - just fantastic. But this is almost driving me away from the podcast .....
Quite possibly one of the greatest and most established podcasts of all time
Least we forget that not only is our dear friend Penn taking the time, nay HAS been taking the time, all these years to give us just a little more content to fill our”souls” with entertainment...
He has introduced us to other such extraordinary talents such as the Icecream social, The Piff Pod with Piff and and the ever pleasant Jade (along with others).
This man does not know what “taking a break” is. He has always strived to work and please his fans and audience. I may not be an American, alas, this man is. No aspect of his life is hidden or obscured. He has been nothing but himself for so many years now. For this we should all applaud him.
This man is a tenacious, galant, hulk of humanity that deserves nothing less than our dutiful respect and admiration.
From inspiring young magicians to educating us in the falsehoods of our societies, I personally salute you sir.
I rated 5 stars but really wanted to rate 4.5 because Teller still isn’t here. Smooches x
