Best of me, best of we

Best of me, best of we

    Love yourself

    Love yourself

When we love ourselves appropriately we can love others. When we love ourselves appropriately we can recognise our strengths in a way that allows us to use them for good, bring the best out in others and be at ease with ourselves. Selfishness happens when we love ourselves inappropriately, when we think we are better than others and this is dangerous. So we must learn to love ourselves appropriately so we can give our best.

    What counts

    What counts

We only have a certain amount of time and energy. So we are well advised to use them well. Einstein reckoned not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that can be counted counts. This Pearl has some ideas about the things that really matter. Each of us works this out for ourselves to make a real difference. In a world where plenty of others tell us what should be measured - because it counts- the best leaders reflect on what they believe counts and focus time and energy on those things

A great pearl! Listening to this confirmed my recent thoughts about the importance of systems (the bones) to support, but how it is people (the head and the heart), humane and ethical leaders who make the difference.

Poignant and powerful

This was a very moving Pearl. These questions get to the heart of who we are in the bad times and the good. An encouraging listen for leaders, struggling or otherwise!

Great words of wisdom.

I love the powerful image of ‘going for popcorn’ and how it highlights to leaders to be aware when you might be ‘boring’ rather than stimulating an audience. Great advice from Sir John who is a most inspirational speaker himself - can’t remember ever thinking about popcorn when listening to him. Thankyou Sir John
