I absolutely love history, and have been fascinated by it ever since I was a child. My particular passion for European castles and places has not only led me to visit and watch dozens of documentaries/ period dramas them, but also it resulted in me focusing my degree on this topic.
I have been searching high and (Lud)low for an informative, funny and gripping show to satisfy my love of castles and I have finally found it. Georgia and Nik do a terrific job of including lots of research, but in an engaging and exciting way. Georgia is a fantastic storyteller/analyst and Nik’s quips always leave me in stitches.
My favourite part of the podcast (like Nik) is always the ghosts and skeletons section; I find the most haunting bits of history are the best! All the stories that are told with such enthusiasm and knowledge that they are brought to life by both presenters.
I also really like the fact that at the end of the month there is a themed episode that goes into more detail about a significant event/ person/ period etc, as it adds a great chance to delve deeper into the story without having to do the research yourself!
This podcast is suited to everyone - young and old, as well as people who are somewhat intrigued about castles to people who are completely mad about them!
Thank you to both hosts for a fantastic show, and I’m very excited to see how this podcast develops. 🏰
