    Heated Rivalry

    Episode Notes It's been a while but our heroes have returned. This time it's Lorraine representing the Canada side and Will skating in from Russia with his big round bum, just in time for Valentine's Day! That's right, our hosts are tackling gay hockey romantasy juggernaut, Heated Rivalry. It's all artfully placed legs to hide modesty and much more willy talk than usual, which is all the more impressive considering one the hosts is called Willy and, indeed, has one! After that, they take on Robbie William's and his 13th studio album, Britpop. Part-time catfood salesman, Robbie, is back at his day job of being a pop star and he's not too bad at it. It's all very samey and all a bit soulless but it should be more than enough for Robbie to whip a gigantic crowd into a frenzy.     Episode Notes Hello Old Acquaintances. Lorraine and Will want you to know you should never be forgot. Our heroes are on deck on January the first, starting as they mean to go on with a shiny new episode. This week, they dive into the murkiest of waters (or is it a pool full of baby oil) with Netflix's 3 or 4 part series, Sean Combs: The Reckoning. It's Fiddy vs Diddy with Fiddy getting the last laugh on his old foe. This documentary charts the meteoric rise and the spectacular fall of music mogul, Sean Combs. Lorraine and Will are definitely West Coast all the way. Next up, a quick round up of the years best TV/Podcast work according to our team and it becomes very obvious that neither Will or Lorraine are getting out of the house much these days.     Stranger Things 5 Chapter 1 & The Alabama Solution

    Episode Notes This week, Lorraine and Will dust off their Wrangler jeans and their Nikes to go back to the 80's and fit right in with the kids from Stranger Things. Won't be a problem for Will as he's the only one of our heroes to properly remember the 80's and the mullet he sported for most of it. With such a huge cast of characters, they'll probably go unnoticed with their own subplot about two Irish people in Hawkins constantly tripping over and hurting their ankles in The Upside-Down! Following that is The Alabama Solution. Andrew Jarecki's documentary on corruption in the prison system and how it is a front for a modern-day slave trade is low on laughs so there'll be none here.     Frankenstein & Pluribus

    Episode Notes Much like Victor Frankenstein, Lorraine and Will have cobbled together another episode from random bits they found lying about the place. Hopefully they raised this episode as much more loving parents than Victor Frankenstein turned out to be. This week our heroes tackle the latest Frankenstein telling from Guillermo del Toro and Netflix. Will they surrender to it's gothic beauty or flee to live in isolation in the Arctic circle (also known as the room they record in. It was very cold this week). Next under the microscope is Pluribus. Vince Gilligan's take on the Invasion of the Bodysnatchers as evil space aliens make us all very nice (if a bit boring) to each other. All except 12 hold outs, including our grumpy heroine, Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn). Will and Lorraine think a planet full of butlers who will cater to your every whim doesn't sound too bad. If you're one of the 12 that is. Although being one of the 8 billion 'joined' seems to be pleasant enough, too. What to do...what to do....     Lily Allen's West End Girl & The Chair Company

    Episode Notes Our heroes return. We all know Lorraine and Will enjoy a good gossip so could anything be more appropriate for their return than Lily Allen's West End Girl? This revenge album is also a return from a hiatus and shows Lily to be in tip-top musical (if not personal) form, just like our hosts. Next up is Tim Robinson's latest cringe-fest, The Chair Company. Lorraine and Will try and unravel the conspiracy theory at the heart of the show whenever they are not laughing or cringing at the antics of Tim Robinson's Ron Trosper, as his live unravels after an unfortunate workplace accident.     A Complete Unknown, Nosferatu and Marilyn Manson Unmasked

    Episode Notes In what might be their last hurrah for a while, our heroes present a rogues gallery to send them off. This week they have Bob Dylan, Nosferatu, and what could be described as what you might get if Bob Dylan and Nosferatu were to somehow reproduce: Marilyn Manson. First up it's mustachioed, undead bloodsucker, Count Orlok, a.k.a. Nosferatu. Will Robert Eggers horror epic give Lorraine and Will the fear? Can Will get past Orlok's clumsy ultimatum? Next is tiresome shock-merchant, Marilyn Manson, who has been up to what can only be described as fairly unsurprising behaviour. Channel 4's 3-piece documentary boils our heroes blood to the point where Count Orlok himself would burn his tongue on it! Finally, Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown rounds off this trio. Can Timothee Chalamet pull off the job of inhabiting the most cantankerous and obtuse musicians of all time? This may be our last show for a while.     Better Man and Babygirl

    Episode Notes This week our heroes are talking about men and girls. Men in the form of Robbie Williams and his monkey-centric biopic (with a soft 'o' for Lorraine) and then kink-shaming drama, Babygirl, starring Nicole Kidman. Better Man has already come up short at the American box office but will Lorraine and Will let Robbie entertain them one last time on the show (he's been on A LOT)? Next up is kink-shaming drama, Babygirl. Nicole Kidman is the sexually-repressed CEO of a robotics company (yes, really. The symbolism is that heavy-handed) and Harris Dickinson is Samuel, a young intern who is surprisingly good at making attacking animals submissive (yes, it really is that heavy-handed). When his perv-radar goes off on Nicole Kidman, sparks fly and she ends up being incredibly harshly judged and punished. There's no room for kink-shaming in Pop Filter.
