    The Devotion of Christ

    The Devotion of Christ

Jesus was fully devoted to the work God gave him to do. The Bible says that God found full delight in Jesus and every footstep was in accord with his Father. The Gospel is preached to announce God’s wonderful invitation to mankind. There is forgiveness and peace available in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our sins have separated us from God’s holy presence but He sent his son into the world to save sinners.

Matthew 26:36-44 “36 Then Jesus comes with them to a place called Gethsemane, and says to the disciples, Sit here until I go away and pray yonder.37 And taking with [him] Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and deeply depressed.38 Then he says to them, My soul is very sorrowful even unto death; remain here and watch with me.
39 And going forward a little he fell upon his face, praying and saying, My Father, if it be possible let this cup pass from me; but not as *I* will, but as *thou* [wilt].40 And he comes to the disciples and finds them sleeping, and says to Peter, Thus ye have not been able to watch one hour with me?41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] ready, but the flesh weak.
42 Again going away a second time he prayed saying, My Father, if this cannot pass [from me] unless I drink it, thy will be done.43 And coming he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.44 And leaving them, he went away again and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.”

Hebrews 12:1-3 “Let *us* also therefore, having so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, laying aside every weight, and sin which so easily entangles us, run with endurance the race that lies before us,2 looking stedfastly on Jesus the leader and completer of faith: who, in view of the joy lying before him, endured [the] cross, having despised [the] shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.3 For consider well him who endured so great contradiction from sinners against himself, that ye be not weary, fainting in your minds.”

    Jesus Paid it All

    Jesus Paid it All

Jesus came to this earth over 2000 years ago on a rescue mission. If we take a look around us today or even back in history we see one big barrier separating us from a holy and righteous God. That barrier is “SIN” At the cross, Jesus took on himself our sin penalty and shed his precious blood. By this great sacrifice, God is able to cleanse.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
Luke 18:35-43 “35 And it came to pass when he came into the neighbourhood of Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside begging.36 And when he heard the crowd passing, he inquired what this might be.
37 And they told him that Jesus the Nazaraean was passing by.38 And he called out saying, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.
39 And those [who were] going before rebuked him that he might be silent; but *he* cried out so much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me.40 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be led to him. And when he drew nigh he asked him [saying],41 What wilt thou that I shall do to thee? And he said, Lord, that I may see.42 And Jesus said to him, See: thy faith has healed thee.43 And immediately he saw, and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people when they saw [it] gave praise to God.”

Luke 19:1-10 “19 And he entered and passed through Jericho.2 And behold, [there was] a man by name called Zacchaeus, and he was chief tax-gatherer, and he was rich.3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was: and he could not for the crowd, because he was little in stature.
4 And running on before, he got up into a sycamore that he might see him, for he was going to pass that [way].5 And when he came up to the place, Jesus looked up and saw him, and said to him, Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for to-day I must remain in thy house.6 And he made haste and came down, and received him with joy.
7 And all murmured when they saw [it], saying, He has turned in to lodge with a sinful man.8 But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I return [him] fourfold.9 And Jesus said to him, To-day salvation is come to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham;10 for the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which is lost.

Luke 23:39-43 “39 Now one of the malefactors who had been hanged spoke insultingly to him, saying, Art not thou the Christ? save thyself and us.40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost *thou* too not fear God, thou that art under the same judgment?
41 and *we* indeed justly, for we receive the just recompense of what we have done; but this [man] has done nothing amiss.42 And he said to Jesus, Remember me, [Lord,] when thou comest in thy kingdom.43 And Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

Acts 9:1-8 “9 But Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, came to the high priest
2 and asked of him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues, so that if he found any who were of the way, both men and women, he might bring [them] bound to Jerusalem.3 But as he was journeying, it came to pass that he drew near to Damascus; and suddenly there shone round about him a light out of heaven,4 and falling on the earth he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said], *I* am Jesus, whom *thou* persecutest.6 But rise up and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

But he, rising up, rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; and they ceased, and there was a calm.25 And he said to them, Where is your faith?
