Ep 131: Burnt Out - how to thrive in a fast-paced world with our very own Selina Barker

    Hi lovely,

It is almost here!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Selina’s book ‘Burnt Out: the exhausted person’s six-step guide to thriving in a fast-paced world’ will finally be out in the world next Thursday, 15th April!!!

Woop woop!! I am so SO excited for you to get your hands on it!

If you’re feeling frazzled, exhausted and burnt out right now then THIS is the book that will love you into recovery and get you onto the path to thriving.

    And fast!

Selina supported me on my own journey from burnt out to thriving and it was utterly transformational! And now with this book, you can go on your own journey of burnt out to thriving too 💃🏻 💃🏻 💃🏻

Each chapter of this book is like sitting down for a 1:1 session with Selina - packed full of so much wisdom, insight and encouragement and so much love and joy too!

One of the many (many!) things that I loved about ‘Burnt Out’ is it’s radical message (reclaim your energy, reclaim your life) and also it’s radical SIMPLICITY too. It is so deeply practical and full to the brim with powerful coaching tools and techniques that you can start implementing straight away. It is genius!

🎉And so to celebrate the arrival of Selina’s book, she joins me on the podcast as my very special guest! 🎤

In this episode we talk about:

Why so many of us are burning out and how COVID has had many of us emotionally burning out this past year
What the Burnout Archetypes are (and how to identify what yours is)
Why we need to learn to manage our energy Olympic athlete style
How even if you love what you do you can end up burnt out
And how Selina helped me break free from burn out as she wrote the book

I cannot wait for you to hear this episode and finally get your hands on the book or audiobook!

And make sure that you get involved in Selina’s online book launch celebrations! (details below!)

    Lots of love,
    Vicki x

Ep 129: Real love story with Lisa Pascoe

Ep 129: Real love story with Lisa Pascoe

    Hi lovely,

Here at Project Love, we love to share and celebrate real love stories.

We love to go beneath the surface and have deep and meaningful conversations with people about their relationships, looking at things like; how they support each other to grow, how they navigate challenges, how they make love last and the lessons they’re learning along the way.

It’s in hearing people’s real love stories, that we can learn so much about love and what it takes for a relationship to thrive.

And this week’s episode is one of those episodes! It’s a real love story with the wonderful Lisa Pascoe, who reflects on her beautiful love story with her wife Bekky.

What I found so inspiring about Lisa and Bekky’s love story is their daily commitment to each other. In Lisa’s words, “everyday we recommit to the relationship we’re in, by choosing to be in that relationship”. How beautiful is that?

Lisa is an intuitive life coach and she brings invaluable advice and wisdom on life and love to this episode. She is all about being who you are and not who the world tells you to be. This message is at the heart of her podcast, Bravehearts Rising. And it’s really at the heart of this episode too.

In the episode, Lisa shares her experience of coming out, back in the 90’s when people only talked about the first three letters of LGBTQ+ and her journey to self acceptance. In her work, Lisa supports empaths, highly sensitive women and LGBTQ+ folks to slow down, hit the reset button and have a kinder, gentler relationship with themselves. She does this through 1:1 coaching (both online and in nature), wellbeing workshops and nourishing circles.

To find out more about Lisa and her wonderful work, head here www.lisapascoe.com (she’s also on Instagram here).

I loved recording this episode with Lisa.

    I hope you enjoy it!

    Love, Vicki x

PS here is the Brene Brown podcast episode we mentioned, it was actually Brene on Tim Ferris’s podcast (she also has a brilliant podcast called Unlocking Us)

Ep 126: The power of Mindfulness & Meditation with Headspace teacher Eve Lewis

Ep 126: The power of Mindfulness & Meditation with Headspace teacher Eve Lewis

    Hi lovely,

I have a gorgeous episode for you this week! I got to interview my dear, wonderful friend Eve Lewis on all things meditation and mindfulness.

Eve is a mindfulness and meditation teacher and she is the director of Meditation at Headspace.

I have a real soft spot for Headspace, it is the app that taught me how to meditate, around 10 years ago. It’s one of my favourite apps and a firm staple in my self love toolkit 💕

If you’re familiar with Headspace, then you will likely recognise Eve’s voice in this episode as she’s one of the teachers in the app!

Eve and I met around 10 years ago when we both worked in advertising. We actually just celebrated a decade of friendship on a recent zoom date. And on that date, we each took a moment to connect with our younger selves and to celebrate the journey’s that we have both been over this past decade.

Mindfulness and meditation have, without a doubt, played a huge part in my self love and self development journey over this past decade. The practice of meditation has supported me through all kinds of ups and downs in my life and it’s had a big impact on how I relate to myself and how I relate to others too.

In this episode, we talk about:

Eve’s journey of how she came to work at Headspace as a teacher and ambassador of meditation.
The power of mindfulness (and the difference between mindfulness and meditation)
How to relate to anxiety in a mindful way.
How the practice of meditation helped me to cultivate a secure attachment in my relationships.
What a mindful approach to dating looks like
How mindfulness can help our relationships to thrive.
    And so much more!

Here is the link to the study I mentioned, on the correlation between mindfulness and lower levels of attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance (fascinating!).

Here are the brilliant dating meditations that Eve did for Hinge.

The two attachment theory episodes I mentioned can be found here and here.

And finally, head here if you’d like to try Headspace for free.

I loved recording this episode so much.

I hope you enjoy it too!

    Love, V xx
