'I'm Not Okay' by My Chemical Romance (w/ Gianmarco Soresi)
ARE YOU OKAY? Gianmarco Soresi stops by the podcast to discuss goths, outsized teenage emotions, music made in response to 9/11, debate the attractiveness of a sulky man, and much more. Read the bad, bad book that is this episode because unlike your jock boyfriend, this podcast just gets you.
Guest: Gianmarco Soresi
Walk-in music: 'Get Free' by The Vines; 'X Gon' Give It To Ya' by DMX.

'Frontin' by Pharrell (w/ Negin Farsad)
Pharrell originally pitched this song to Prince, and we can confidently say, we’re glad Prince said no! This song rules! Makes you think, maybe Prince should have said no to more things! Negin Farsad returns to the pod bringing some personal history with this Pharrell feat. Jay-Z classic, and frankly more personal history than we needed as she recounts some shocking schoolyard taunts. Evan spends way too much time talking about cupping melons in the grocery store, and eventually punches Frontin up to much applause.
Guest: Negin Farsad (Fake The Nation, Birdgirl)
Walk-in music: 'Rock Your Body' by Justin Timberlake; 'Boasty' by Wiley (Ft. Stefflon Don, Sean Paul, & Idris Elba)

'Mr. Blue Sky' by ELO (w/ Amy Miller)
If you spent 6 weeks in a Swiss chalet, you'd probably write a beloved, feel-good rock hit too. Evan and comedian Amy Miller get into airplane etiquette like a couple of 90's stand-ups, an Elmer Fudd-ELO conspiracy like a couple of academic theorists, and wax problematic on humans having koala babies. Tune in to hear Evan punch-up this classic!
Guest: Amy Miller
Walk-in music: 'O Superman' by Laurie Anderson; 'If U Seek Amy' by Britney Spears.

'Beggin' by Måneskin (w/ Daniel Thrasher)
I’m beggin, beggin you, to listen to this tale of how evil bond-style supervillains are conspiring to take over society with This One New Sound that is actually old and grates on your ears. Daniel Thrasher stops into the pod before going out on tour to share the reason he hates this Måneskin song (apparently it’s a C#). Michael Gregory guest hosts to support Evan’s mental health (Evan really tests the bounds of sanity with this week’s punch)
Guest: Daniel Thrasher
Walk-in music: 'Tiptoe Through The Tulips' by Tiny Tim; 'Grazing In The Grass' by The Friends of Distinction.

'I Get Around' by The Beach Boys (w/ Tim Daniels)
Evan's losing his mind and has Friend of the Pod and Beachboyologist Tim Daniels (The Complete Guide to Everything) in for triage. The Beach Boys: They got around in every way you’re thinking. In the fictional but sort of autobiographical world of this song there’s drag racing, hot promiscuous sex, bragging about fat stacks, and “cool head”, yikes. In the real world there was abuse, fights, drowning, beefing with other bands, not to mention the Manson family stuff. As the Beachies sang, Fun, Fun, FUN!
Guest: Tim Daniels
Walk-in music: 'Taboo' by Caterina Valente; 'Revolution Blues' by Neil Young.

'Bring Me To Life' by Evanescence (w/ Michael Gregory)
The song that launched a million emo kids! Have you ever felt like you can’t wake up? Did you try having a random dude yell CANT WAKE UP at you? Evan, set adrift as a solo host, sorely missing his cohost Andrew (who’s on paternity leave), pulls in the next best thing, his other brother Michael, who proceeds to hit a home run with a stunning GUEST PUNCH. This episode gets to the bottom of what Bring Me To Life is really about: no it’s not the clown from It, but he does come up for some goth reason.
Guest: Michael Gregory
Walk-in music: a surprise REVERSE PUNCH they said it couldn't be done!!

So so good
First off - real real funny; but also like -sounds this gr8 + its only Miel and Marissa editing!? - great podcast’ amazing podcast, love the podcast
Please don’t
Is there any way we could get a feed for just the episodes before these new hosts? I have no interest in the podcast hosted by new people and don’t want my feed clogged just so I can keep the old episodes.
No jam?
I heard a review for this on BBCR4 and it sounded fun. I’ve only listened to one episode so far but my first impression was disappointment. Two people discussing a classic song based on google research, and the bit I waited for (the jan) seemed to be missing (I actually rewound and heard a scrap). If the point of the podcast is to Punch up the Jam then PUNCH IT AND PLAY IT. Will give it another whirl before I unsubscribe and revise this review if it gets better.
