Quietly Ambitious is a podcast for online business owners and creatives, with conversations that dive deep into why we do what we do, the struggles and wins we face along the way, and how we fit it all into the kind of life we want to live. Plus a few solo episodes from me on the simultaneously rewarding and challenging experience of online business, creativity and entrepreneurship. My hope for this podcast is simple: that we can connect with each other as humans living life and doing business in a creative way.

I’m Ruth Poundwhite, and I’ve been running my online business in some form since 2008. I’m all about creating and growing businesses that are not only profitable, but that truly fit around our lives and values. Find more at ruthpoundwhite.com

Year in Review: Business & Life Lessons from 2021 | 102

2021 started out with an unplanned month off and a dip in income, followed by the launch of my biggest programme yet, massive wobbles, more confidence in my craft than ever before, and hitting over 1000 students of my courses! There was a lot that was hard, but even more to be grateful for. Here is my year in review. How I Do It All (& the Power of Imperfect Experimentation) | 101

In the past 3 years I have worked with over 1000 students within over 15 courses. I’ve run several different group programmes and worked with many beautiful clients 1:1. From the outside I know it sounds like a lot, so in this episode I’ll break down how I do (alongside parenting, fatigue and lots of procrastination and overthinking!) Ruth Is Interviewed to Celebrate 100 Episodes (Lessons From the Last 3 Years) | 100

Today is an extra special episode. I wanted to mark the fact that this is the 100th episode of the podcast - and what a journey it has been! So I asked my friend and mastermind sister Danielle to ask me all about the last 3 years. It was such a juicy chat that covered how I went from not really knowing what this business was to being fully booked with perfect clients and running multiple courses, plus my key mindset lessons along the way. What Your Business Results Mean About You (A Pep Talk For Tricky Times) | 99

As humans we love to attach meaning to whatever may or may not be happening in our businesses. But what do your results REALLY mean about you? Spoiler alert - they actually mean nothing! And this episode will go into why that's true, how nothing you do or don't achieve will ever change your value as a human being, and how to actually believe it. What To Do After A Bad Launch | 98

I don't believe that launching has to be hard, but it does bring up all the feelings, especially when you're disappointed with the results. Off the back of a "bad" launch of my own, I'm sharing what to do next, and some important mindset shifts to consider as you keep working towards your bigger vision in business. Rest & Trusting Your Body - A Conversation With My Mastermind Group | 97

Today's episode is a little bit different. A couple of months ago I got together with my three beautiful mastermind sisters, Willemijn Maas, Danielle Brooker and Genevieve Parker Hill. I decided to bring the mastermind group to the podcast, and we're talking all things rest, from ingrained beliefs about what hard work has to look like, to prioritising rest while still being driven, to real-life examples of magical things that have happened when we rested. Wow

I’ve only listened to two episodes so far but Ruth and her interviewees have already given me so much to think about. Essential listening for creative business owners at the more thoughtful end of the spectrum.

What a gem

Ruth’s Creatively Human podcast has been one of my lockdown highlights. It’s inclusive of anyone who feels they want to access the creative side within them (we all have one). It touches so much on finding your own identity and sense of self, understanding your own rhythms and accessing the courage to act and create change in your life. The interviews and people she has conversations with are inspiring and insightful and so are Ruth’s *solo pods*. She has such a mellow but empowering vibe and I’ve recommended her to so many people who agree ✨

Making Sense in a mad world

I have only just started to listen to the Creatively Human Podcast, although I have followed Ruth on Instagram for a while. Ruth's podcast speaks to me as a creative person trying to make a space for my business and I in this crazy world. It is a calming balm of reason and commonsense, I highly recommend it if you are a creative business person.
