Woodyard is an Emmy-nominated animation producer, director, writer, and artist whose career spans decades across television animation, design, and original creative development.He gained early experience in television graphics and animation before joining Rankin/Bass Productions, where he became part of the iconic ThunderCats legacy. During his time on the series, Dennis worked as a storyboard artist, designer, and writer, contributing to the show’s distinctive visual style in its later run. He is credited with writing standout episodes such as “Shadowmaster” and “Well of Doubt,” and is also recognized as the creator of the fan-favorite villain Shadowmaster. Dennis’s career continued to expand across multiple roles in the animation industry, including work on Gargoyles and Ozzy & Drix, the latter earning him a Daytime Emmy nomination for his work in animation directing. He also served as a producer and creative contributor on the science fiction series Exosquad, showcasing his ability to lead and shape complex animated productions. As the founder and Creative Director of Dragonfly Entertainment, Dennis created a platform to develop and produce animated entertainment across a wide range of media with innovative projects like Dragonfly Flipz, a unique animated flip-book experience that blends traditional art with interactive motion.
