Rose Tinted: A Movie Podcast

I love the interplay between the presenters where one is often trying desperately to hold on to his rose tinted specs of his childhood while the other is cynically ripping them off. Such a great concept. Some very grown up themes of grief, misogyny, transphobia, political philosophy and the film industry are explored in an enjoyable conversational format. Also some interesting details about the historic context and the unique chikd perspective of the 90s is fascinating to me as somebody who was a parent in that period. The at time explicit language reflects the “uni buddies” relationship of the co-presenters and I enjoy the genuine funny moments in some episodes where both break into helpless laughter. I look forward to every new episode.

Really love this podcast. A great format, huge amounts of nostalgia, and lots of insights into films that defined my former years. I’m always inspired to rewatch the films to see if I can see the film through their eyes or whether I’m still wearing rose tinted glasses.

I’m loving listening to this podcast - first you get a blast of nostalgia from growing up in the 90’s! Then you get to hear great balanced opinions on the plots and characters. My favourite part is the “how would you improve it” because they are always really great ideas that don’t take away from the original film! Love it - can’t wait to see what comes next😝❤️
