Veronica Valli and Chip Somers are experts on recovery. Chip Somers was most recently described by Russell Brand in his book 'Recovery' as a 'right social liability.' Together they have been sober for almost 50 years and have a LOT of stories, messes, experience and occasionally helpful advice to share on living in sobriety. They bring all of that (and more) to the Soberful podcast. This podcast is for anyone who wants to live an alcohol-free life, is struggling to get sober or who is in long-term recovery.

Sobriety is a Shift in Perception
Veronica explains why sobriety is a shift in perception. When we take things personally, it makes us very sensitive and can often lead to resentment. Resentments are the free drunk, and unless we find a way to shift our perception of what is happening we will always use alcohol to manage them.

Simply brilliant
Having been sober for 2 and a half years (now 3) I began to listen to sobriety podcasts. I have come across many very good ones. This is brilliant. Veronica and Chip give me hope that I can achieve 'emotional sobriety' and knowing that they are both qualified therapists and people with long term sobriety, is immensely inspiring and reassuring.
I have binge listened to all the back episodes and there is so much to learn and enjoy in each one. Veronica and Chip deal with serious and sometimes traumatic topics with great sensitivity and often humour.
It was with delight that I discovered they had returned from their (well deserved) summer break with a new episode last week and look forward eagerly to the next one.
Highly recommended!
Mixed Bag
I’m approaching one year of sobriety and have listened to this series throughout the 12 months. I don’t really relate to Veronica and Chip but respect their journeys. Some episodes have been really helpful and insightful. Many episodes I’ve switched off. It’s a mixed bag for me. I’ll keep listening as episodes I can appreciate pop up 50% of the time
A must for the sober and the curious
I read quit lit and attempted sober October starting 2 weeks earlier than required.
I stumbled over the Soberful Facebook group. I was recommended to listen to an episode, as my partner is still drinking.
Chip and Veronica are both British. They talk so much sense too. Chip is an atheist which suits me as I’m not part of a 12 step fellowship or believe in God. Veronica lives in the USA and the whole team behind the podcast is worldwide.
I’ve taken so much advice on board from these two qualified addiction therapists. They have their own stories and have dealt with so much past trauma and addiction.
Very informative and educational. If you want to stay sober it’s not about just stopping drinking. This podcast gives you the life skills to go out and enjoy living.
I’m still sober too. My life is improving and so is my self worth.
This is the real deal. Not coaching by self taught so called experts.
I’m 8 months sober, so far, and thank Soberful for cementing this feeling of control into my brain.
I highly recommend. Tune in.
