It was the first ever Silver Jubilee to be celebrated by a British monarch, and the celebrations began with a special Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s on the 6th May – where the two young royal princesses, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret were in attendance – along with a congregation of 4,500.
