Strangers on a Bench
Have you ever walked past a mysterious stranger on a park bench and wondered about their lives? Tom Rosenthal (singer-songwriter by trade) has spent the last 6 months walking the many parks of London, approaching random bench-dwellers and asking if he can sit next to them and record their conversation. Every stranger remains anonymous, neither name or place of work is ever revealed (even to Tom himself), leading to greater openness, intimacy, and surprising revelations from the participants. I think this is a great concept. Tom interviews in a gentle, considered and interesting way. It is produced so well. I only discovered it at the weekend and have listened to them all. The songs are lovely. The episode ‘Rolling down the hill’ stopped me in my tracks, quite a surprise and Tom dealt with the secret so well, and the song at the end was beautiful. I hope there will be another series.
So relaxing

What a beautiful podcast. Such a simple concept but it offers a fascinating look into the lives of others. The music is amazing. I’ve never heard of Tom before and will check out his music. Please come to different parks - not just London!
