In first listen ( and probably last ) they seem to be to be unable to check their own bias in terms of the election and the current governments’ actions which are at least the same if not worse than the incumbent as in funding atrocities. I think they actually spoke about a partly falsified news story and made similar fascist accusation comments which lost the election so the scrutiny wasn’t strict enough for me to continue I’m afraid. Unable to recognise anything positive about Trump at all and inferred people are stupid racist etc . It seems WW3 is less important than pro choice . Trump said he would never sign a ban on abortion etc but they infer he did and did not discuss any detail. Did not recognise how Harris didn’t get the candidacy via primary etc etc No mention of climate change. An issue which was valid but not fought. Should stick more to law perhaps. Trump deranged I’m sorry to say.

This podcast is fantastic, an essential listen. The host are amazing, smart and funny women, their analysis is essential for a sound understanding of the court and court culture. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I’m from the UK so it’s harder to convince people here to listen. My friends and family must be sick of me saying “This week on Strict Scrutiny….” If this review convinces one extra person to tune in I’ll be delighted. Thank you for you work and wit, Kate, Melissa and Leah.

Strict Scrutiny achieves the near-impossible by breaking down the goings-on at the Supreme Court (and indeed other courts around the country) in a manner that conveys their absurdity and danger while managing to inject acerbic wit and humour (without ever undermining the seriousness of the events at issue). The hosts and producers deserve immense credit for creating such a consistently formidable show.
