As we continue our 'Set Apart' series Sam explores the idea of Holiness and what it means to be called to be Holy. We are told to be Holy as the Lord your God is Holy, but how do we approach this and what does it look like? It feels like something we will constantly fall short of and, for some, it can feel like a real barrier between them and the Lord. But in the Gospel we hear the veil and has been torn and the barrier removed so what does it mean to be Holy and why is it important?

Set Apart: Faith

In this powerful message, Dave, Senior Leader at Bridge Church in Lincoln, speaks into the church’s “Set Apart” series with a bold and challenging focus on faith. Drawing from Hebrews 11 and the Parable of the Talents in the Gospel of Matthew, Dave unpacks a deeper, biblical understanding of faith — not just belief or trust, but active obedience. He challenges the modern Western view that faith is simply internal belief, reminding us that true faith is demonstrated through action. “Faith without works is dead” isn’t about earning God’s love — it’s about responding to it. Through the Parable of the Talents, Dave highlights that it’s not about how much we’ve been given, but what we do with what we have. The servant given five talents and the servant given two receive the exact same reward: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” The message is clear — comparison kills calling. There are no winners in the game of comparison. Faithfulness, not status or scale, is what matters. He also explores what it really means to be blessed. To be blessed isn’t simply to be loved by God — it is to be commissioned by Him. From Genesis to the Great Commission, we are entrusted with responsibility and invited to partner with God in His purposes. This message is a call to move from passive belief to active partnership with God — to live entrusted, courageous and obedient lives of faith. If you’re wrestling with what it truly means to live by faith, this teaching will both challenge and encourage you.
