Episode #86 "Walk Like a Man"

Episode #86 "Walk Like a Man"

Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa are joined by Sopranos writer/executive producer and Academy Award nominee Terry Winter. Terry is a fascinating character and if you don’t know his full story check out Talking Sopranos #18. In this interview he talks about what it was like going into that final season, and how the writers were trying to wrap things up. He shares what David told him about the ending, and what he thought about the cut to black. Terry wrote four episodes in Season 7 including this one which he both wrote and directed. It was also the only show he ever directed.
In this episode Christopher and Paulie are at odds and AJ can’t handle his break up with Blanca. Robert Iler’s is absolutely fantastic in this one. Check out Talking Sopranos #86 “Walk Like a Man” S7-Ep5. Make sure to visit the Talking Sopranos website for more information about the podcast and to buy official merchandise.

Great podcast

If you wanna nerd out on the Sopranos, this is the show for you

Great show, the two hosts clearly have a good rapport and the insider info on filming and playing their respective characters is great. Michael’s a funny guy and I love it when Steve gets a bee in his bonnet about something and goes off on a rant! Steve’s shouty “wise guy” personality complements Michael’s deadpan humour. People are complaining about the interrupting but I don’t mind it- I’m Jewish and I think we have a lot in common with Italians, we’re always interrupting each other too. Steve reminds me of one of my uncles. Can imagine him shooting the breeze with Tony and his crew (without the murder part obviously!) Would much rather listen to these guys having a laugh and going off on tangents than the many “polite” English podcasts we have here in the UK. Just had a baby which is hard work but this, plus the actual Sopranos show is getting me through it. Am watching an episode and then listening to the relevant podcast about it. It’s great as obviously it’s not a new show so I don’t have many people I can discuss it with. One thing for listeners to watch out for: the spoilers!! For newcomers like myself it’s a real bummer to find out major characters die before you get to that part. But otherwise a great listen!

Pure Bliss

If you love the Sopranos, this podcast will knock your socks off. The beautiful friendship, compassion, humanity and perfectly complementary styles of these two artists, and the production related friends who join them, will deepen and enrich your experience of what can only be described as the one of the best works of art, certainly the best modern family dramedy in human history…
