TotalCultZone presents....Another movie review podcast? Yeah, I guess so. I do mix it up a bit however by covering new, old, cult, forgotten, unknown, good, bad and ugly movies... Usually all in the same episode.     Me and our Joe put on a little fill-um and enjoy life a little bit more because of it, even if Graysome White is in it This sweet and uplifting Irish road movie from filmmaker Michael Head (Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire) packs in the laughs as it follows Dermot (Brenock O’Connor) and Elvis (Owen Colgan), two music lovers who run a struggling record shop in Omagh, Northern Ireland. Facing an unpaid rent bill and their vicious landlord Sadie (Derry Girls’ Tara Lynne O’Neill), who’s eager to get them out of her building, the pair stumble across a deal too good to be true: rare, vintage records of blues legend Robert Johnson for sale in Cork at a knock-down price. If they can make it to the other end of Ireland in time, then maybe they could get the rare vinyl, and save the shop… With just two days to get there the pair head off in a rusty Vauxhall as old as the hills. As they navigate their beautiful journey, they meet locals and make new friends along the way. A fun and off-the-wall buddy movie, The Spin is based upon a semi-autobiographical short story by Omagh music star Mark McCausland (The Lost Brothers, The Basement, McKowski). McCausland also provides the film’s beautiful folk soundtrack. Alongside O'Connor, Colgan and O'Neill, The Spin also stars Pussycat Dolls' Kimberley Wyatt as well as Maura Higgins (formerly Love Island & I'm A Celeb) who makes her feature length acting debut. The film also includes cameos from Irish music royalty, Barry Devlin (Horslips) and Steve Wickham (The Waterboys).     We were supposed to be talking about a film called "A beautiful break up" but ended up talking about 3 other films and, the state of the world we live in instead. WHY!? you'll find out when you listen Films covered instead: "Rental Family", Brendon Fraser is a token American in Hikari's low budget lost in translation feel good movie. Ricky Stanicky" John Cena and Zac Efron sing about willys and, "Happyend" a coming of age Sci-fi film that's not very sci-fi anymore.     Dogma, Kevin Smith & Partying like it's 1999

    We're covering a film that lots of people have probably seen but not in this high a quality. The 25th anniversary of Dogma is being celebrated with a 4K release of the best (?) Kevin Smith film, now that he's got the rights back. Me and Captain J watch it and talk a little about the impact Kevin Smith has had on out worlds... it's not just that one scene, honest. Also as I thought there wouldn't be too much to talk about a film everybody has seen, I knocked up a little quiz about the year 1999 and, snuck in quick quiz of 'Are you an UN-ALIVE?" turns out there was a fair amount to talk about, and even then I don't think we even scratched the surface of what a wonderful film this was and still is Dogma is showing in theatres around the place and probably getting every possible physical release you can think of, with multiple bonus features.     It's spooky season, so I handed the reigns of the show over to Nona, the person who digs through trash dumpsters for horrendous horror films, and challenged them to give me 3 decent ones that may have been overlooked. I do my best co-host impression by adding in things they remind me of, or random films that come to mind. If the first time you saw it, it was in 4K, we're gonna sound like dinosaurs but, so is everyone else in this "documentary" about the legendary film Chain Reactions is an exploration of Tobe Hooper’s cult-classic, featuring never-before-seen outtakes and interviews with Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.   Directed by Alexandre O.     Gleaming the cube, more like... Skateboarding and getting off with your dead adopted brothers girlfriend while anti communist propaganda makes you wear chinos  ThatFkingGuy and Sunset Skip (Rich) meet up and talk about a movie, but not just any movie, it's Skips all time favourite movie of ALL TIME!. "A young avid skateboarder uncovers a conspiracy while investigating his adoptive brother's mysterious death." The write up on IMDB doesn't let on to much, it totally doesn't mention that it features some totally gnarley grindage from some of the top skaters of the day, some sweet sweeeeeeet stunts, totally rad funeral dress and Frosted tips!!! That's not even going into the weird romantic relationship and possible anti-communism sub plot. IT"S GLEAMING THE CUBE DUUUUDE!
