#41: Boxing, depression and fitness with Lewis Smale

#41: Boxing, depression and fitness with Lewis Smale

I had an inspirational conversation with Lewis who talks about his journey with depression and his mental health struggles and turned to boxing and has now won his first boxing game whilst raising money for Cancer Research UK and is now training to compete at his second game in July 2021. He also spoke about how the COVID 19 pandemic has affected his wellbeing and fitness journey.

Lewis is a committed, hard-working individual. He suffered in the past with depression and obesity but managed to find his way out through boxing, fitness, and determination. Lewis spent the last few months uploading videos and pictures of his fitness progress leading up to his fight in July. Lewis's first fight was a success and in this second fight, he is looking to show others that they don't need to be scared of change, they need to embrace it.

#37: Carbon footprint with John Munn

#37: Carbon footprint with John Munn

I had an interesting episode with John who spoke about the importance of being carbon neutral and reducing carbon footprint, and his opinion on different ways to do so such as becoming plant-based, less travel, etc.

John is a multiple-award-winning serial entrepreneur currently helping people across the UK become carbon neutral via his social enterprise, ZeroSmart.

John started the world's first brewery to specialize in ancient alcoholic drinks when he was just 20. Just two years later John successfully exited the brewery following ethical concerns and instead started a social enterprise called Global Digital Week when he was 22. Global Digital Week ran digital education events at universities across 7 countries and delivered online training to universities, governments, and businesses across 97 countries. They worked with SMEs as well as companies like LEGO and Google.

John has won and/or been a finalist for numerous awards including the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year awards and Social Entrepreneur of the Year for the entire EU at the All Digital Awards.

John is now aged 25 and helping people become carbon neutral via his social enterprise, ZeroSmart. ZeroSmart makes people and pets carbon neutral via carbon offsetting, planting trees for the long term, and funding quality climate-positive projects to immediately remove more carbon than you contribute to the atmosphere. ZeroSmart is on track to remove 250,000 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere this year alone.
