    Andrew Nixon⁠ recently sat down for a conversation with ⁠Dame Tracey Crouch⁠, former MP for Chatham and Aylesford and a former Minister for Sport, and of course the former chair of the now famous Fan Led Review which resulted in the White Paper on Football Governance. In this second part, Andrew and Dame Tracey covered everything from the Fan Led Review, and the Football Governance Bill, to the future of women’s sport (and why women’s football wasn’t part of the Fan Led Review) and Dame Tracey’s transition from the public to private sector. Dame Tracey also answered the question we ask all our guests: “what trends do you predict will impact the sports sector over the next few years?”.

In this first part, amongst other topics, Andrew and Dame Tracey discussed how the Fan Led Review came about, the influencing factors – including Bury, COVID-19, and the Super League – as well as the extent of the consultation, the themes and of course the 10 recommendations. Andrew and Dame Tracey also discussed the club licensing conditions, how football cannot be treated like any other interchangeable commercial enterprise and what we can expect from the independent football regulator, the first of its type.

She now works as a consultant and uses her experience and creativity to help football stakeholders to build sustainable and accelerated blueprints that raise the women’s game. And she has just started a startup with the objective to close the gender pay gap for women in sports and empower them to get what they are worth when it comes to salary. Susie Cirilli Susie is a shareholder w the law firm Flaster Greenberg, and is based out of Philadelphia and New York. Her primary focus is employment law, where she counsels companies and executives on employment issues. She also negotiates and drafts executive agreements.
