The Boss Mums Circle

Carly Raynsford

Hi there, I’m Carly, running my own award-winning wedding business while raising my family. I know the juggle first hand. I get it!  During my time at a local radio station, I created a weekly feature spotlighting women balancing motherhood with their businesses. Their stories of determination and resilience blew me away every week. Those conversations sparked my idea of The Boss Mum Circle. What started as a radio segment in September 2024 became a movement by January - a private Facebook community where women support each other, celebrate wins, and connect through networking sessions. Now I’m moving from radio to podcasting for the raw, authentic conversations that matter. This is where ambitious mothers share real stories - the triumphs, struggles, and everything in between. Ready to join the circle?

Kaye's Story - Beyond the Taboo: 10 years of Grief, Growth & Running a Business

There are some conversations that matter more than others. This is one of them. On this episode of The Boss Mums Circle Podcast, Carly is joined by Kaye Sale - founder of Noggin Creative, a mum, and a friend of over 20 years. But this conversation goes far beyond business. Kaye shares her experience of one of the most isolating and misunderstood forms of baby loss — termination for medical reasons (TFMR). A subject often surrounded by silence, stigma, and misconception, even among those closest to us. In April, it will be 10 years since Kaye and her husband made the devastating decision to say goodbye to their twin daughters, Sophie and Phoebe. Kaye is here to change the conversation. To honour her daughters. To speak the truth about what TFMR really looks like. And to make sure other parents facing the same experience know they are not alone. Alongside this, Kaye reflects on her journey through motherhood — raising her teenage daughter and energetic young son — while carrying both grief and love side by side. She also shares how, in the midst of it all, she took a leap into self-employment. What started as something that felt like a hobby has grown into a thriving creative business — Noggin Creative — one she openly admits she’s still “winging” day by day. Because this episode isn’t just about loss. It’s about resilience. It’s about navigating marriage, motherhood, and identity after unimaginable decisions. And it’s about hope - because even in the darkest places, Kaye has found ways to keep living, keep loving, and keep creating. In this episode, we cover:  Understanding TFMR and breaking the silence around it  Making impossible decisions as a parent  Grief, stigma, and navigating life after loss  Balancing motherhood while carrying both joy and heartbreak  Building a business from instinct, not certainty  Finding strength, purpose, and ways to give back  Kaye continues to honour Sophie and Phoebe by raising money each year for charities supporting families experiencing loss - turning her story into support for others walking a similar path. Charities Harry's Rainbow SANDS  If this episode resonates with you, please consider sharing it or leaving a review - conversations like this help break the silence and reach those who may need it most. Sheila's Story Part 2 - The Con, the Camera & the Comeback

The Con, the Camera & the Comeback – Sheila’s Story (Part 2) Life might throw the curveballs… but what you do next is where the real story begins. In Part 2 of this conversation, Carly continues her chat with Sheila Kronfeld — and this is where things start to shift. After opening up about her upbringing, self-doubt, and the unexpected scam that knocked her confidence, Sheila now shares what it actually looks like to rebuild. Because the comeback isn’t just a moment — it’s a decision you make over and over again. From finding the courage to keep showing up, to trusting her instincts and leaning into creativity, Sheila talks honestly about pushing forward when it would be easier to step back. There’s something powerful about this stage of the journey — the part where you stop waiting for permission and start backing yourself. And with her brand new Saturday lunchtime show, The Sheila Show, launching on a new radio station, Sheila is doing exactly that — stepping fully into her voice, her space, and her next chapter. This is the part of the story where resilience turns into momentum. Expect honesty, self-reflection, and a reminder that setbacks don’t get the final say — you do. In Part 2, we cover:  Rebuilding confidence after setbacks  Learning to trust your instincts again  The reality of “starting again” (and why it’s not really starting over)  Showing up even when self-doubt is loud  Stepping into new opportunities with confidence  What’s next for Sheila and The Sheila ShowFollow Sheila’s journey: Instagram: @sheila.s_nature_alchemy If this episode resonates, share it with another mum who needs to hear Sheila's story. 3. Sheila's Story Part 1 - The Con, the Camera & the Comeback

    12 APR

Sheila's Story Part 1 - The Con, the Camera & the Comeback

Life doesn’t always follow the script… but sometimes the plot twists are exactly what shape us. On this episode of The Boss Mums Circle Podcast, Carly is joined by Sheila Kronfeld - a woman rewriting her story in real time. Sheila opens up about growing up in a world where she never quite felt like she fit. As part of the only mixed-race family in her environment, and navigating the complexities of her upbringing, she carried self-doubt that followed her into adulthood - especially when creativity wasn’t seen as a “valid” path. But this is where the comeback begins. Throwing herself into radio presenting, Sheila has been carving out her own space and finding her voice - quite literally. From stepping behind the mic to stepping into her confidence, she shares the highs, the hurdles, and the reality of putting yourself out there. And then… the twist. A bizarre scam that could have knocked her sideways. Instead, Sheila is choosing to use it as fuel. This is a story about resilience, identity, and learning to trust yourself — even when life throws the unexpected your way. Now, as she prepares to launch her very own Saturday lunchtime show, The Sheila Show, on a brand new radio station, this feels very much like the start of a powerful new chapter. Expect honesty, humour, and a reminder that your past doesn’t define your future -  unless you let it. In this Part 1 of this interview episode, we cover: Growing up feeling like you don’t quite belong Breaking free from limiting beliefs around creativity Turning life’s knockbacks into your next chapter Follow Sheila’s journey: Instagram: @sheila.s_nature_alchemy Join the Boss Mums Circle If you loved this episode, don’t forget to subscribe, rate, and review the podcast. After being made redundant, Evie didn’t just “bounce back”  she built something better. Because let’s be honest… the world of work wasn’t built for parents. And especially not for mums. Evie is on a mission to change that.
