Wondery Presents - Flipping The Bird: Elon vs Twitter

When Elon Musk posted a video of himself arriving at Twitter HQ carrying a white sink along with the message “let that sink in!” It marked the end of a dramatic takeover. Musk had gone from Twitter critic to “Chief Twit” in the space of just a few months but his arrival didn’t put an end to questions about his motives. Musk had earned a reputation as a business maverick. From PayPal to Tesla to SpaceX, his name was synonymous with big, earth-shattering ideas. So, what did he want with a social media platform? And was this all really in the name of free speech...or was this all in the name of Elon Musk?

From Wondery, the makers of WeCrashed and In God We Lust, comes the wild story of how the richest man alive took charge of the world’s “digital public square.”

Khalif Browder

5 stars for the series on Khalif Browder, where Generation Why shows that “the real crime is the justice system”.

True crime podcasts can be very exploitative, and profit off real people’s tragedies in an insensitive way.

However, I think this particular series is really educational and it’s actually beneficial to spread the word. There are crimes being committed on an institutional level which affect far more people than individual murders.

The best podcast out there

I love Gen Why Podcast.

I’ve been re listening to them as they are even better 2nd time around.

The Justice For Jacob really got to me.

It’s was horrendous to listen to, honestly just give me 20 minutes in a locked room with ’John’.

I’ll get him to confess 🤕🤕

they are still among us?!! ,

If only…

This podcast would be improved if Justin and Aaron listened better to each other; too often one will repeat what the other has just said. It is jarring. If they agree, I suggest they take a leaf out of the book of True Crime Garage; Nick and The Captain are exemplary in this respect imo. This ‘wasted’ time could be used to delve into such questions as “Should parents be held responsible for what their kids do?”? We surely know enough nowadays to know the importance of childhood; perhaps working on that would mean the death penalty or even prison could be rendered obsolete?
However, is a true crime podcast the place to do such? Thinking of vested interests, would it render true crime podcasts obsolete…?
