Ep7 – Stuart Waddington | Grassroots parenting guide

On this episode of The Grassroots Network I sat down with star development UK direct Stuart Waddington. Star development UK is a leadership company to create better organisations and teams, I thought this conversation would be very informative to coaches on how to build and create a good team environment. In this episode we also discussed grassroots parents at length and what we can do better to make football a more enjoyable experience for our children.

I really enjoyed talking to Stuart to get a parents perspective, with the nature of his business a lot of the same processes can be applied to grassroots football. You can also check out stuarts podcast about leadership via the links below.

Ep5 – Danny Holmes | From Real Madrid To The Woodchurch

On this episode of The Grassroots Network I sat down with professional footballer and UEFA A licence coach Danny Holmes. We talk about the the local grassroots game, the difference in player now compared to when he started playing and his coaching journey so far.

Danny is a fantastic advocate of community and his recent adventure into running a grassroots club bases in the area he grew up in was inspiring. This was a really fun episode and when you get to know Danny you can see why his coaching business has been so successful. With the players needs central to the way he coaches, I took alot away from this podcast.

Ep3 – Interview with Rhys Platten

Ep3 – Interview with Rhys Platten

Running a grassroots football club can be an enormous job especially as a volunteer, this episodes guest is Rhys Platten chairman of Bromborough & Eastham football club. We discuss the importance of volunteers, what the club’s philosophy and culture looks like and also what the future holds for this football club.

The grassroots game is full of clubs like Bromborough & Eastham, we want to share as much of their experience with other clubs as possible. If there is one take away from this podcast it is that the kids who play for your clubs must be at the heart of it, that’s what’s make the game so special and exciting. Enjoying the magic moments football give us is what makes memories for children and creates a positive environment for them to play in.

    Thanks for listening.
