Yet another fascinating deep dive and insightful summary! I still have the video at home and listen to Dave Marr and how amazed he is that the US could actually lose on home soil. I would love to see you focus on the cups evolution through the 90s from controversy at Kiawah to the memorable win in 95 to Seves chaotic captaincy at Valderamma all the way to the comeback at Brookline. Great trip down memory lane for Ryder-geeks…...well researched and beautifully delivered by Shane. Fascinating how close the cup was to folding due to lack of competitiveness from the GB and Ireland and the initial Euro effort. Also the amateur approach and selection processes in place on both sides of the pond until into the late 80’s. As a fervent Euro fan I’m disappointed to agree with Shane’s prediction of a 15.5-12.5 🇺🇸win Looking forward to the remaining podcasts…..War on the Shore, Battle of Brookline etc

From the fallout of previous Ryder cups to internal politics of picking the captain, moving to the meticulous preparation in the two years leading up to the event, captains picks, tactics and finally to the unfolding of the event and what’s happening inside those team rooms over three days in September.

I assume most people listening to this will be Ryder cup / golf fanatics. Therefore, much like your book, it is engaging, enjoyable, and much recommended. Please though fact check your content before recording / writing; Tom Watson won only 5 majors?? Lanny Wadkins and Sal Hutton winning the Open Championship!? There are some pretty obvious and irritating errors, in what is for the most part an excellent podcast. Wikipedia the facts - I would happily do it for you!!
