    Implementing Treasury Roadmaps with Séverine Le Blévennec

    Being clear about your goals and projections is essential to being a successful treasury leader. That’s why our latest guest implements roadmaps to define her plans and be clear on what she requires from her team. 
    Séverine Le Blévennec, Global Head of Treasury at Aliaxis, joins this episode of The Treasury Career Corner. 
    This is her second appearance on the show and Séverine has changed roles since her last episode. Here, she talks about her new position, the impacts of COVID on the industry and the importance of technology and data within treasury. 
    Plus, she explains her treasury roadmap in detail. 
    Séverine joined Aliaxis as Global Head of Treasury in June 2021. Prior to this role, she worked at Honeywell EMEA Treasury for 15 years in a number of roles such as Director and Senior Director of EMEA Treasury. 
    During this time, she built her expertise in a number of fields such as cash management, cash investments, EU regulations compliance and lobbying as well as transformation and digitisation.   
    Before she joined Honeywell, Séverine spent 7 years at GMAC European Treasury Centre where she was involved in all aspects of liability management: capital market programs, credit lines negotiation and documentation, securitisation transactions and innovative secured credit lines set up.  
    The stellar work she’s done hasn’t gone unrecognised as Séverine’s been honoured by numerous international awards in the fields of cash and liquidity management, innovation and technology or treasury strategy. She's also a recognised voice of the industry and an acknowledged speaker in the fields of treasury regulations and innovation. 
    Séverine holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance (ICHEC), an EFFAS certification (European Federation of Financial Analysts) and is Six Sigma Green Belt.

    That advice comes from this week’s guest on The Treasury Career Corner who joined the show to provide expert advice to treasury professionals. 
    John McAnulty, former Group Treasurer at Richemont, discusses his route into the industry, how the treasury world has evolved and how he has navigated crises over his 30+ year career. 
    Plus, he highlights the key traits he thinks professionals require to make it in treasury. 
    John McAnulty was appointed Group Treasurer of Richemont, a leading luxury goods company, in 2000 and is based in Geneva. In addition to coordinating all treasury activities, he is responsible for overseeing the Group’s global pension, insurance and enterprise risk management programmes. He left this role in September 2022. 
    Prior to joining Richemont, he worked from 1989 for SmithKline Beecham plc undertaking a variety of roles in finance and strategy development. From 1985, he worked for the Midland Bank group, first in its leasing subsidiary and subsequently in the banks’ central finance function. 
    Born in the UK, John holds a degree in Business Studies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

    Why Hybrid Work Is Here to Stay with Bruce Edlund

    The world has not been the same since COVID first struck in 2020. Back then, many treasurers were adapting to remote work and acclimatising to the challenges of being out of the office. 
    Now, many professionals have returned to the office, either completely or as part of a hybrid working pattern. 
    In this episode of The Treasury Career Corner, we welcome back Bruce Edlund, now Group Director, Assistant Treasurer at Cloud Software Group. 
    Bruce joined the show back in June 2020, whilst working at Citrix. He explained why he returned to the company, shared his thoughts on technology in treasury and provided tips for young treasurers. 
    Now, Bruce returns with career updates and explains why he thinks hybrid work is here to stay.  
    Bruce Edlund is Group Director, Assistant Treasurer at Cloud Software Group based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 
    He was previously Director of Treasury, Senior Director, Assistant Treasurer and Group Director, Assistant Treasurer at Citrix Systems, Inc. also in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He had been Senior Director of Treasury at Citrix in his first stint with the company between 2004 and 2010. 
    He has over 20 years of treasury experience starting as Assistant Treasurer at DIRECTV Latin America and later becoming Director of Global Cash Management at Walmart Stores.   
    His experience in companies of varied size in different industries has given Bruce a wealth of experience in treasury systems and different ways of tackling industry challenges.  
    Prior to corporate treasury, Bruce worked for five years in investment banking in Latin America, primarily at Bank of America. He has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management where he maintains ties and has been a regular guest judge for their FORAD finance competition.  
    He also has BA degrees in Economics and French from California State University, Sacramento.  
    Bruce speaks French and Spanish, learning the languages while studying and working in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Latin America.

    Gavin Waugh, SVP, Treasurer, Risk Management and Corporate Development at The Wendy’s Company, joins this episode to discuss his route into the industry. He also highlights the importance of mentorship in treasury, how he built a strong team and reveals the questions senior treasury professionals should be asking themselves in 2022. 
    Gavin Waugh serves as SVP, Treasurer, Risk Management and Corporate Development for The Wendy’s Company, operator and franchisor of the Wendy’s® restaurant brand. He is responsible for Global Treasury, Capital Markets, Corporate Development, Non-Cash Consumer Payments, Risk Management and Enterprise Data Governance.  
    Waugh, a 25-year+ Treasury and Finance veteran, holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Management from the University of South Africa, an MBA from Kennesaw State University, and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).  
    He began his career as Treasury Manager at Total Audio Visual Services (TAVS) from 1996 to 1998 in Atlanta, Georgia. He then went on to spend 7 years at RTM Restaurant Group as Senior Treasury Analyst and later Treasury Manager and Director of Treasury.

    What sits at the heart of treasury? It’s not just about the qualifications, financial know-how and technical skills. Tying it all together are the relationships and collaboration between teams.  
    Tanja Holden, the Group Treasurer at Ocado Group, joins this episode of The Treasury Career Corner to discuss the importance of relationships building in treasury.  
    In this episode, Tanja takes us through how she discovered her love for treasury, what she’s learned from different roles over the years, and how treasury has changed since she first entered the space.  
    Tanja and her team manage all treasury matters for Ocado, including its financing strategy. Prior to this, she held various senior treasury roles at an international manufacturing company and various finance and treasury roles at Dyson. Tanja earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Classical Studies at the University of Exeter, UK. She is also a qualified Corporate Treasurer (AMCT) with the Association of Corporate Treasurers, a Chartered Institute in the UK. 
    Ocado was established in the UK in 2000 with the aim of changing the way people shop for groceries. Nearly 20 years later, Ocado is an FTSE 100, client-focused business which provides services, technology, and automation to grocery e-commerce businesses around the world. 
    The group’s combined expertise and capabilities underpin the continued evolution of the Ocado Retail Limited platform, which has seen it become the biggest grocery retailer of its kind in the world. They are now taking those same unique qualities to help their partners around the world reach similar heights through the Ocado Solutions business.

    He provides top tips for treasurers of all ages and emphasises why curiosity is key to success in the industry.
    Steffen has been the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Treasury at SAP SE since 2014. He is responsible for all Treasury activities of the Group covering global cash management, corporate finance, financial risk management as well as Treasury solution-related co-innovation and sales support.
    Steffen is a board member of Taulia LLC, a market-leading fintech provider of working capital management (WCM) solutions.
    He joined SAP in 2006 as Head of Treasury Finance, a team within the Global Treasury organization of SAP, responsible for capital market topics, external funding, bank relationship management, Treasury-related reporting, and group-wide planning of financial income.
    Prior to joining SAP, Steffen was Head of Finance/Treasury at a German listed mid-cap automotive supplier. He started his career at Deutsche Bank as a Relationship Manager.
    Steffen has a degree in International Business Administration from the Worms University of Applied Sciences.
