Gripping

So glad I have discovered this show and I have 3 seasons to catch up on. Well acted and great production, with a story that has me hooked!

Weak acting, declining writing

The sound design is decent, as is the ambient music, but the acting is pretty dire, like kids reciting lines at a school play rehearsal. This is with the exception of 2 performances which are actively bad - the guy doing the Clint Eastwood impersonation (you'll spot him quickly), and the one who sounds like Arthur Darvill from Doctor Who in Plucky Optimist mode, who seems utterly tone deaf to the production he's in. Good intentions, this could have been a solid podcast... but the casting sinks it.

Lost its way after Season 2

I really enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 and binged the lot in a couple of weeks. The voice acting wasn’t great and reminded me of foreign language lessons at school with exaggerated accents. But.. the story was gripping. However..season 3 is dreadful. The writers seemed to have worked unnecessary levels of detail in to the story that just don’t add much and leave you wondering whether the detail is relevant, distracting you from what’s going on. I could picture the world the characters were in during seasons 1 and 2 but in season 3 the level of detail used to describe the surroundings is confusing and dull. The exaggerated voice acting now grates and despite repeated attempts to persevere, I’m calling it a day. A real shame, a gripping story with lots of potential seems to have lost its way.
